50 Cent’s Disappearing Ink…

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is getting his “grown man” on lately and has decided to rid himself of a bit of his past.

50 Cent’s many tattoos have always been a part of his “gangsta” image. He’s displayed them prominently on album covers and in magazines throughout his career but 50 Cent the rapper has become Curtis Jackson the entrepreneur and, as we know, all those tatts aren’t a considered a good look in the business world.

So Mr. Jackson has begun the process of removing them one by one…

You may have noticed Fiddy’s tatt free image in the campaign for his new Power cologne. Well the tatts were likely photoshopped out of that image but 50 makes note of the issues concerning the tatts in his acting career.

According to People Magazine, 50’s ink is causing a problem as he turns his focus to acting, with roles in the upcoming drama Twelve, costarring Chace Crawford, and the football flick Things Fall Apart, due out next year.

He’s been going through a costly laser procedure to remove the tatts from his arms:

“It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup covering them up,” 50 Cent says about his decision, which he calls “an ongoing process.”

Fiddy has also made it crystal clear that he values sleep over body art, saying that covering the ink in the makeup chair often required him to show up on set four hours before the other actors.

And he doesn’t want to be all sweaty on the set with make-up smearing everywhere:

“When you’re a fighter, you’re sweating, [and] with a whole bunch of make-up on and stuff like that, it doesn’t look real to me.”

Although his arms will now be clear, fans of the giant “Southside 50” tatt on his back – shouldn’t fret…. that one is here to stay. “I can’t take that off,” he says.

*Lucky for him, that one is pretty easy to hide under clothing….

Yuuup… the Southside, G-Unit, 50 Cent tatt stays.? I’m sure CiCi can appreciate that… [side-eye]
