Segregated basketball in 2010? Who knew?
A former pro wrestling promoter Don “Moose” Lewis is reportedly proposing an All White basketball league to be based in Atlanta. A press release printed in the Augusta Chronicle revealed that “only players that are natural-born United State citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league.”
Lewis has hit up several media outlets with his proposal, however, his planned “All American Basketball Alliance” (AABA) is said to be an elaborate hoax.? Being that the “league” doesn?t have a website, no sponsors, or any single players…AND that his “press release” was issued on Martin Luther King Day, it’s thought that Lewis is only after a bit of attention.
Sad thing is… it’s working!

Lewis, who calls himself? the commissioner of the AABA, will exclude blacks and all foreigners from his new league, which the newspaper said will be based in Atlanta.
According to the Chronicle, Lewis said he wants to emphasize “fundamental basketball” instead of “street ball” played by “people of color.” “There’s nothing hatred about what we’re doing,” Lewis told the paper. “I don’t hate anyone of color.”
Lewis points out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas’ suspension for bringing a gun into the Washington Wizards locker room, and said, “Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?”
According to news reports, you don’t have to be White to own a team but you do have to be White to play.? Lewis also wants to add an all-star game to the 2010 All-American Basketball Alliance schedule. He wants the best players from his all-white?league to play the top stars from some other league – preferably, he said, an all-black league.
?We could call it Snow Ball vs. Bro Ball,? Lewis said. ?It lightens everything up when you give it a name like that.??? I’m so not seeing the humor…
