Michael Vick’s Atlanta Return: Photos + V-103 Interview

It was unofficial Michael Vick day in the “A” yesterday as several all of his diehard fans convened on the Georgia Dome in celebration of his return. Although we all would have preferred to have seen him play for the home team it was a thrill to see him in action on Falcons turf again.

In what I can only describe as “poetic justice,” Vick ran a touchdown and threw a touchdown for his new team, the Philadelphia Eagles and assisted them in a 34/7 win over Atlanta. It was a bittersweet loss for us Falcons fans in that we all cheered for Vick’s success while secretely wishing he was still ours.

One of my twitter friends noticed my excitement over Mike’s touchdown and asked how I could feel a sense of pride over Vick’s return after he let the Falcons and their fans down. My response was simple…it was the Falcons that let their fans down by booting Vick!

Vick lied. He fessed up. He served his time. We never wanted him to leave. That was all on Blank.

Vick also did a sit down interview with Ryan Cameron on Atlanta radio station V-103 Saturday. He was on air for a full hour and even took a few calls from his fans. I caught a bit of it as I was on my way to the mall and heard Vick speaking on how he felt torn about having to play for the opposite team, in a town that he still considers home.

What struck me most about the entire interview was Vick’s humility, as he reiterated that it wasn’t HIS choice to leave.
