Oh Lawd! Killer Mike has done a “Diddy” on us. He’s?gone and changed his dayum name! Crazy thing is… he didn’t even call to tell me. I had to read it on the gotdayum net. Needless to say, I’m a bit perturbed, but I ain’t trippin. Mike, who now wants to be known as “MIKE BIGGA” says that it’s something he’s wanted to do for quite some time now and after reading his statement, I can understand and stand by his decision.? Mike says:
I read all the comments all hip-hop sites. And I love how smart the hip-hop fans are and they say ?Man, this guy is dope. Why he so slept on.? Then, it always be a comment under there that be like ?I don?t suppose the name Killer Mike be holding him back? You can?t get corporate sponsorship with that.? (laughs)
I?m going with the name Mike Bigga because I really feel like I?m bigger than what I have been in the past and I?ve managed to get legendary status from being a raw rap guy in terms of being able to come out of the shadows of the hardships I?ve had,? the entertainer said as he referenced recent tragedies that have occurred in his area.
I?ve become my own boss in a bigger partnership with Grind Time Official and Grand Hustle now and I?m just on to bigger and better things. And I figure what better time than now, going into this new season that?s going to be coming up in January when Tip gets out and let the world know I?m on to bigger and better things. (Source)
Immediately after reading his statement I knew he was right. In fact I feel him. Mike is a wonderful rapper/performer but he’s also a great orator/political activist who is definitely bound for great things. The dropping the “Killer” was a smart thing to do since I can honestly see him running for office sometime soon. Keep grinding Mike Bigga! StraightFromTheA is behind you all the way. 🙂
