Usher’s Inman Park franchise of The Grape Restaurant has officially closed it’s doors. The location opened to widespread publicity in late 2006 but the spot — a wine bar, bistro and wine retailer rolled into one — did not reopen in the New Year and also did not renew its liquor license with the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Currently, three local branches of the Grape remain: in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center, Phipps Plaza and Atlantic Station. The Atlanta-based Grape Enterprise Group Inc., which both owns and franchises shops mostly throughout the Southeast, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. Its franchise locations, such as the one in Inman Park, were not party to the filing.
When Raymond Usher IV first met with reporters at the opening of the Inman Park branch wearing a cabernet-purple blazer, he spoke of opening franchises in locales as far flung as Shanghai and South America. Those plans never came to fruition.
A request for comment from Usher’s publicist was not returned by the time of publication. (Source)
He’s the first man on my banner so it’s only fitting that my first post would be about my favorite couple Ushmeka! Obviously rumors of their demise have been exaggerated! Usher Raymond and his ride or die chick Tameka Foster Raymond have been partying it up over the holidays. Initially spotted together at Devyne Stephen’s 007 Black Tie Affair in Atlanta and finally ringing in the new year during a party at The Bank in Las Vegas. Tameka dropped that load and is back full swing on the party circuit. Little Naviyd Ely Raymond, barely 3-weeks old, is very well taken care of so don’t fret. You already know Meka is not about to sit quitely while Usher travels the world. Heck no! Kids or no kids she is all about her man! Now…THAT’s a real woman.

Usher performed a medley of songs during the 2008 Victoria Secret Fashion Show. I don’t know bout y’all but hearing “Yeah!” made me happy this morning and I’m sure the fellas will appreciate the eye candy… 😆 Enjoy!
Usher hit up MC Serch’s radio show and gave major props to Puff…ummm I mean Diddy for helping him back in the day. Ursh also credits Jermaine Dupri for helping him find his true “sound” and his Moms for keeping the money in order. Funny thing is…Usher mentions all these people but never utters his wife Tomeka’s name, even when Serch hit him up with the “older woman” question. He also seems to flinch a bit when asked about why he initially called off the wedding. I don’t think he saw that one coming… 😆
