Chilli: Usher’s Sex Appeal is “Just Fine”!

In a recent one on one with Vibe Magazine, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas was asked if she felt that Usher’s Capri bearing performance during the 2010 NBA All-Star Game was an indication that he’d lost his sex appeal.

As one who’s really familiar with Usher and his sexiness, Chilli broke it down and stood up for her ex-boo:

I think every artist has that experience of ‘Oh! Why’d I put that on?’ at one point. I didn’t feel embarassed [for him]. The one thing I do believe in are his God-given talents. He has them and they haven’t gone away, I think it’s weird that people even look at it like ‘Can he get it back?’ I’m like ‘Okay, he didn’t lose it.’

I think as artists sometimes because we do different things and just try different things, it may appear you’ve lost your way, but it’s just trial and error. I think at the end of the day, he knows best more than anybody, what he’s capable of doing.

And so I think he’s going to be fine. (Source)

Mr. Raymond graces the cover of the March 13th issue of Billboard magazine. The photo is cropped at the knees, so the verdict’s out on if he chose to rock full length pants or capris.

All jokes aside, Usher is on the grind and feels that his new project will reveal a new Ursh. Despite the challenges of trying to reclaim his superstar status in a drastically downshifting industry climate, Usher is determined to create more history of his own.

I’ve come through a metamorphosis and I’m in my new skin. A lot of things have happened in the last few years that could have broke me, but I’m still standing; rejuvenated with a new peace, confidence and energy. I’ve got fire in my eyes. FULL COVER STORY

Usher is also fully aware that he needs to drop a few more videos for all those singles he’s got on the charts. He’s currently shooting back to back videos for “O.M.G.”with Will.i.am and “Lil Freak” with Niki Minaj. So prepare yourselves… he’s coming!

Usher is apparently still in the studio churning out songs for Raymond vs. Raymond. This time, he’s collaborated with Will.i.am and that vocoder thingy to come up with “O.M.G.”

Usher Raymond opened up the NBA All-Star Game singing a medley of old and new tunes. I had to locate the video and see it again myself since his outfit was causing a distraction. I couldn’t take my eyes off his black leather capri pants…

Flix/Video ~ Celebs Join Voices for “We Are The World For Haiti”

Stars from R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and more came together for the remix for “We are the World” to aid Haiti earthquake relief. 80 artists came together in the exact same Hollywood studio where the original was cut 25 years ago.

Jamie Foxx, Usher, Pink, Natalie Cole, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, India Airie, Keri Hilson and more all stood shoulder-to-shoulder on risers at Henson Recording studios Monday night to raise money for Haiti earthquake relief.

Lionel Ritchie, Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne

“This one, the enthusiasm, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Lionel Richie, who wrote the original with Michael Jackson and oversaw the new version with music mogul Quincy Jones.

“We Are the World — 25 for Haiti” will premiere this month during coverage of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on NBC, according to a release from promoter AEG Live.

Usher & Mya were spotted on the red carpet at the 2010 Grammy Awards sharing camera time and looking picture perfect! I know you all were rooting for Chilli but it’s just a date! They both need a lil buzz and I’m sure this manufactured promo will work well for both of em. Who knows… maybe Ursh is lookin for a new baby makin machine.

Usher Raymond was featured on E! True Hollywood Story the same day his “Daddy’s Home” video was released. Now, you already know that the promo machine is in full effect for Mr. Raymond and I’m not surprised by the timing AT ALL. I didn’t get a chance to catch it (and still haven’t) but I’m almost positive there’s nothing in it that I don’t know about.

To be fair, I’ll save my comments for when I actually WATCH the episode, but I would never deny you the opportunity to go in.

Synopsis:

Usher Raymond’s new video for Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home) premiered today on MTV. The vid, directed by Chris Robinson, shows Ursh rehearsing some of his signature moves with the ladies and it looks like our prayers have been answered. He got his swagger back!

Playing his love interest is model Noemie Lenoir. Noticeably absent is rapper Plies, who is featured on the original track (Listen/Download).

The single will appear on Usher’s sixth studio album “Raymond vs. Raymond” which reportedly is due for a March 30th release. When asked about all the leakage that’s occurred over the months, Usher’s friend/producer Jermaine Dupri responded that what you heard is what you’ll get:

His album date is set. I doubt you’ll get new records. You’re gonna get what’s basically there, but it’s a solid record. His album is a solid record. People gonna love it.
