Fox TV’s Empire is bringing the HEAT this season… figuratively and literally!
This week’s episode is titled ‘The Rise of Sine’ and the popular hip-hop drama shocked fans as one of it’s main characters took a bullet and was left bleeding on the red carpet.
Hakeem struggles to find a place for his fiancé, Laura, in his career and family; Cookie reveals the truth about Freda’s father to Jamal; Jamal makes a sacrifice for Lucious.
While common sense would lead us to believe that it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE for a main character to get killed, Jussie Smollet has hinted that he just might be gone for good!

Atlanta’s historically Black collegiate community is in an uproar today after a ‘silent protest’ went viral.
The hashtag #RapedByMorehouse and #RapedAtSpelman began trending yesterday on social media after several students from Spelman College banded together to launch a silent protest on campus.
After a self-identified Spelman student anonymously took to Twitter with a detailed account of her encounter with a Morehouse student, several of her fellow students donned caution tape on their mouths to symbolize how rape victims at the college are often silenced.
They also carried signs bearing the words from her tweets in an effort to force Morehouse to acknowledge the alleged rape culture and make changes.
Many Morehouse men found the hashtag extremely disrespectful to the college as a whole and are calling for social media users to name the people accountable instead of the college as a whole.

We all have at that one Facebook friend who changes their relationship status about once a month… (as if we care).
[FLASHBACK: Facebook Ettquette? Should there be a ‘Relationship Status’ Rule Book?]
Then there are those who post every single “date night,” gift… and/or cuddle session on all of their social media accounts, as if they want the whole wide world to know that they are head over heels in love and on the path to forever.
[Sidebar: Major props to Angela Simmons for keeping her private life PRIVATE… but I digress!]
I recently came across an article that basically says that oftentimes couples who post their entire life stories on Facebook are likely suffering from problems in their relationships and/or don’t even have one.
A picture of a trip to the beach; a selfie waiting in line at the grocery store; a morning snap of them in bed — It may look like your married friends are happy when they constantly post pictures of themselves on Facebook but relationship experts say this can be a deceiving practice. It turns out the more couples expose their intimate lives on social media, the more likely they’re suffering from problems inside the relationship.
Duh! Like… who DIDN’T know this? Read more from this fascinating article below… Continue Reading…

Apparel maker Gap has apologized for an image used in an ad that some critics (i.e. ‘Black Twitter’) felt was racially insensitive.
The ad in question depicts four young girls that are part of Le Petit Cirque, a traveling circus company that features boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 14. In the image, an African-American girl is posing next to a taller Caucasian girl that is propping her arm on the younger girl’s head.
Twitter commenters were quick to pounce… with many claiming the ad cast the black child as merely “an armrest.”
