While most of us were feeding our faces with Cajun Turkey (I plead the fifth), T.I. was over at Turner Field on Thanksgiving Day assisting Hosea William’s Feed The Hungry Foundation. The event attracted nearly 22,000 needy Atlantans and fed all with no problems due to the generosity of several well known ATLiens. Tip was commended in raising nearly $100,000 within two hours on a local radio show Wednesday evening and Young Jeezy, was said to have donated $5,000 towards the event.
“I shouldn’t be but I’m amazed by their giving,” said Omilami, daughter of the late Hosea Williams. “I’ve been doing this for 39 years but I’ve never seen a year like this one in terms of donations.” (Source)
Bankhead Beef has taken another turn this week. After the Dirty Awards fights, Shawty Lo hit up VladTV with an exclusive interview, straight from D4L studios. Lo takes the opportunity to speak about Big Kuntry King’s recent threat to release some taped phone conversations between the two of them. During his talk, he mentions how Kuntry is just all mouth and that he shouldn’t even be talking cause he’s one of the “lames” on the label. Lo spoke almost highly of TIp in the video above, he also recently told MTV news that he don’t know where Tip’s head is….but he ain’t the one to be disrespected:
“[Me and Tip's conversation] ended on a positive note with the conversation,” Lo said. “I don’t know where he is [with the beef]. I guess he just be talking. One thing about it, Shawty Lo ain’t no punk. T.I. is just a rapper. He knows how to read a book good. Where I live is for real. I ain’t got nothing against homes. He’s got family, I got family. I’m not trying to kill him, he’s not trying to kill me. I got fans that love me. He’s not not gonna run all over me. I ain’t Lil’ Flip.”
Ummm….Ok. So who’s fighting now. Can somebody draw up a diagram or something cause I’m getting confused.
Happy Thanksgiving! Just thought I’d drop you a little special video for you to check out while you’re digesting all that Turkey & dressing. T.I. hit up Camp Creek Y.M.C.A. to give a motivational speech to a few families and children on the southside yesterday. He also gave out a few free turkeys just in time for Thanksgiving. I commend Tip for quickly getting out this positive message immediately after the Dirty Awards fights. Hats off to his PR….very well done!
The 2008 Dirty Awards were held in Atlanta last night and the event, although star-studded, was less than spectacular. The show, presented by Radio One’s Hot 107.9, ended up being a Hot “A”ss Mess as police had to break up fighting amongst some of the performers. Prior to the fighting, several Atlanta A-listers like Goodie Mob’s Big Gipp + Khujo Goodie, Monica, Soulja Boy, Gorilla Zoe and more were spotted glammed up for the red carpet:
Monica was rocking the red carpet as usual! You go girl
Gorilla Zoe
The event was marred by a fight that broke out presumably between Shawty Lo’s posse and T.I.’s clique. Shawty Lo performed and I’m told his ad libs took jabbs at T.I. and his crew. Once Yung LA and T.I. took the stage to perform “Ain’t I,” T.I.’s ending message didn’t sit well with some of Shawty Lo’s Bankhead crew in the audience and bottles and fists flew. I’ve heard that Alfamega had to be maced and that Big Kuntry was also subdued by police. More flix + Video footage of the debacle below *Updated with Better Footage*: (more…)
Jamie Foxx and T.I. were captured in the studio during the recording of Foxx’s new single, “Just Like Me”. The song is produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream and will be the first single from Jamie’s new CD, Man’s Intuition. In the song, Jamie finds a girl who’s just like him and he doesn’t like it one bit…
