I told y’all months ago that Keyshia Cole’s Bio-Mom Frankie Lons had an upcoming Judge Mathis appearance and even told you how Frankie prevailed in court. Well…the episode aired today and it was quite a bit more tame than I expected. Frankie appeared in a good wig wearing her smart glasses and spoke eloquently about her case. She didn’t really get crunk til the end and she had already won!
I found a video for those of you who missed it but it may be gone soon. I’ll update with a better quality vid soon but beggars can’t be choosers. So enjoy!
Guess what? There’s gonna be even more of Keyshia Cole’s family members hitting the airwaves soon. Neffe’s BFF/Stylist Dariel and her half-sister Elite are said to be working on a new reality series. According to FreddyO:
Keyshia Cole’s sister Elite, and Neffe’s hair stylist Dariel are in the process of shooting their own reality show. Yes you heard me correctly. According to Dariel the show is to portray their grind and hustle to make it in this cut throat industry. It will also show that Keyshia does NOT take care of them.
Dariel also says that the show will be speaking on issues of how money was stolen from his former management. But the main focus of the show is to show the world his struggle as a hair stylist that is trying to build his brand and clientel. It will also show how Elite is in the studio making her own album, and her search for her dad. According to Dariel this is going to be REAL and RAW, and nothing will be held back.
I hate to say I told you so…but I did. Way back in May. ~~> Reality Show Alert ~ Boy You So Pretty! I just wonder what the title of this show will be. I hope they come up with something more creative than Tiny & Toya or Frankie & Neffe. I vote for “Boy You So Pretty” cause Dariel gives that heat…but then that wouldn’t give Elite any shine. Dariel & Elite is just too simple for all this glorious-ness! Peep game:
Monica (above with her boo Rocko) celebrated her 29th birthday last weekend with a series of events. She started off with a big bash at Luckie Food Lounge and rounded it off with a Red Carpet Preview of her new BET reality series and celebration of her Uptown Magazine Cover. Mo was surrounded by friends, family and fans all weekend long before departing to New York to hit up the Thurgood Marshall Anniversary Dinner and 106 & Park:
The premiere episode of Monica’s BET reality show, “Still Standing” broke records during it’s airing Tuesday night. The show is said to have brought in 3.2 million viewers and is BET’s #2 debut of all time, behind “The Tiny & Toya Show.” I’m so proud of Monica for bringing some positivity to the network!
In case you missed it, you can check out the full first episode of Monica’s “Still Standing” plus more photos from her birthday celebration below: (more…)
Sean “Diddy” Combs is back with yet another reality show. How many does this make? I’ve lost track. Anywhoo, Diddy is still seeking an assistant after all he took those po people through last season. Now he’s got a whole new group of people willing to be tortured for a chance at being his daily whipping board. What…was Ma$e not available? Didn’t he just get his permission slip signed so he could get a real job?
I’ve received the premiere episode in my inbox and thought I’d share with you guys. Check out the full premiere episode below:
NeNe Leakes says shes pissed off about Bravo’s portrayal of her during the 2nd season of the hit series The Real Housewives of Atlanta and she’s not taking it anymore! Leakes, who is shown during the final episode arguing with fellow castmates Kandi Burruss and allegedly choking Kim Zolciak says it’s not fair that she’s being made out the be the villain. In a recent Essence interview, NeNe lets it all out about how the show is scripted (no surprise) and edited in a way that’s not flattering to her true self:
Why are you so upset about the show’s portrayal of you now?
Yes, I know that’s what they do, but the first season they didn’t edit me. It happened this season because we have a different show runner and this season has been a lot more planned and scripted. Last season they just let us go which made for a great show, but this time around, the show runner will say something like, you need to go over there and talk to Kim about “Tardy for the Party.” They’ve also been making a lot of changes to the sequence of events. For instance, we all arrived to Sheree’s fashion show late because there was a huge car accident, and when we arrived they all ushered us to our seats and the show began immediately, but when you see the episode they show me talking to Kandi which is not what happened.
You may remember Kim Kearney as the loud mouthed contestant who considered herself a hybrid of Puffy & Oprah (PoPrah) on the first season of VH1’s “I Want To Work For Diddy.” Not long after her elimination from the show, I revealed a video montage of Poprah’s thin moments on the site.
In addition to Kim hosting a short-lived talk show, she was also an aspiring recording artist in the 90’s who performed under the moniker “Tempest.” Fortunately for us…that moment was captured in time with the emergence of music videos. I dunno if “Tempest” ever made it to MTV but her videos were definitely worthy of a shot.
Check out two vintage music videos from Kim/Poprah/Tempest below as well as a brief update on what she’s doing now: (more…)
During Mike Tyson’s initial appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, he expressed a bit of remorse over an incident with fellow fighter Evander Holyfield during their 1997 heavyweight title fight, where Mike bit Evander twice, once in each ear. The incident went down as one of the most talked-about moments in boxing history and the two have never officially discussed what happened. Evander contacted Oprah and asked if the two could reunite face to face on her show. O obliged and brought Mike back within a week of his interview for a historic interview between the two former foes.
Evander is still missing a small part of his ear but says he has moved past his anger:
“It was just shocking. It wasn’t really as bad as they made it out to be. The most important thing is that things happen for a reason, but it’s how you handle it,” he says. “At that moment, I was very angry. But eventually, when it’s all over, you realize that you gain more than you lost. … The most important thing for me was to forgive, and I forgave him and I was ready to move on.”
