Bankhead Beef has taken another turn this week. After the Dirty Awards fights, Shawty Lo hit up VladTV with an exclusive interview, straight from D4L studios. Lo takes the opportunity to speak about Big Kuntry King’s recent threat to release some taped phone conversations between the two of them. During his talk, he mentions how Kuntry is just all mouth and that he shouldn’t even be talking cause he’s one of the “lames” on the label. Lo spoke almost highly of TIp in the video above, he also recently told MTV news that he don’t know where Tip’s head is….but he ain’t the one to be disrespected:
“[Me and Tip's conversation] ended on a positive note with the conversation,” Lo said. “I don’t know where he is [with the beef]. I guess he just be talking. One thing about it, Shawty Lo ain’t no punk. T.I. is just a rapper. He knows how to read a book good. Where I live is for real. I ain’t got nothing against homes. He’s got family, I got family. I’m not trying to kill him, he’s not trying to kill me. I got fans that love me. He’s not not gonna run all over me. I ain’t Lil’ Flip.”
Ummm….Ok. So who’s fighting now. Can somebody draw up a diagram or something cause I’m getting confused.
The 2008 Dirty Awards were held in Atlanta last night and the event, although star-studded, was less than spectacular. The show, presented by Radio One’s Hot 107.9, ended up being a Hot “A”ss Mess as police had to break up fighting amongst some of the performers. Prior to the fighting, several Atlanta A-listers like Goodie Mob’s Big Gipp + Khujo Goodie, Monica, Soulja Boy, Gorilla Zoe and more were spotted glammed up for the red carpet:
Monica was rocking the red carpet as usual! You go girl
Gorilla Zoe
The event was marred by a fight that broke out presumably between Shawty Lo’s posse and T.I.’s clique. Shawty Lo performed and I’m told his ad libs took jabbs at T.I. and his crew. Once Yung LA and T.I. took the stage to perform “Ain’t I,” T.I.’s ending message didn’t sit well with some of Shawty Lo’s Bankhead crew in the audience and bottles and fists flew. I’ve heard that Alfamega had to be maced and that Big Kuntry was also subdued by police. More flix + Video footage of the debacle below *Updated with Better Footage*: (more…)
I can’t call it you guys. I thought the battle over Bankhead was over, but it appears it was just simmering. ”Don’t I” a new song by some dude I’ve never heard of (Stuntman) featuring Shawty Lo is apparently a T.I. diss track aimed at Yung L.A.’s “Ain’t I“. The first time I heard “Ain’t I” I thought it sounded way too much like Shawty Lo to be a coincidence but who am I? All I know is…this ish could go on forever! If you desire to add this to your Bankhead beats collection, the download link is under the cut (don’t ever say I don’t give you anything!): (more…)
Looks like Shawty Lo left and came back younger and stronger!!! He’s also teamed up with Quincy (Al B. Sure & Kim Porter’s son) and has hit the studio. What you gonna do now Tip?? LMAO…
Shawty Lo recently did a phone interview to declare that the beef between he and T.I. is officially over. In the interview, Lo, who just won a 2008 Ozone award for “Best Breakthrough Artist,” states that the beef has gotten old and people just want to hear good music. Well Duh! On question though…what’s gonna happen to all those unreleased diss tracks??
As rumors are still swirling around the “A” that T.I. snitched to get his plea deal, Shawty Lo puts his feelings in a song called “I Knew It (Snitchin)” Wanna hear it? Here it go… (more…)
T.I. was interviewed by Neke at 92Q in Baltimore recently where he discussed his two new singles and his involvment in the Hip Hop Caucus’ drive to promote voter’s registration. Tip presented Keke with a shirt from his new clothing line bearing the words “Respect My Vote” and also gave her the shirt off his back (literally) cause she liked it so much. Neke then tries to get Tip caught up by asking him if he called Shawty Lo to help in the drive, his reply… “Who?”…”Man Hell Naw!”" Check out the full interview under the cut: (more…)
