The happy news hit the net yesterday that Monica is now an official “basketball wife” and now her new hubby, Lakers player Shannon Brown, confirms the news via video:

?It?s true,? the 25-year-old Lakers guard told Hiphopnonstop.tv yesterday.

“That?s my wife, I?m her husband, you know. We?re going to continue to make positive things happen.?

The couple met last summer on the set of Mo’s “Love All Over Me Video” and immediately fell in love.? The two sealed their union in a private civil ceremony November 22nd in Los Angeles. Rumor has it that Mo is planning a full wedding for their friends and family in June

It’s Official! Monica & Shannon Brown Are Married…

R&B singer Monica is officially a basketball wife!? Mo and her boo, Lakers star Shannon Brown tied the knot and have managed to keep it all hush hush for months!

Rumors began circulating way before Christmas that Mo was married and I’d heard that the party in L.A. was actually their reception. Only a few of Mo’s closest friends and family knew about the marriage and they all graciously managed to keep it out of the media.

Well now… the word is out. It’s official! Mo & Shannon tied the knot!

The rumors are true: Monica and Shannon Brown are indeed married. An official with the NBA also confirmed the marriage, which took place in Los Angeles on November 22, 2010.

A friend of Shannon Brown?s says he is relieved that the news is out because he respects his wife and he has been wearing his wedding band recently.

The friend said Shannon and Monica plan to wed officially in front of family and friends (again) in Los Angeles in June. (Source)

Word is… Mo has already changed her last name to “Brown.”

As you recall, Mo met Shannon on the set of the video for “Love All Over Me,” where she and Shannon ended up walking down the aisle. The two have been inseparable every since. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy!

Family Photos: Monica & Shannon’s First Christmas…

Monica (and her awesome new haircut) spent the holidays in L.A. with her two sons, Lil Rocko & Romelo and her boo, Los Angeles Lakers baller Shannon Brown.

As you know, Christmas was a disappointing day for Lakers fans as Kobe Bryant and the team were dominated by LeBron James and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat in their first match up of the season (Lakers lost 96-80).

Mo tweeted a few pics as she attended the Lakers vs. Heat game on Christmas Day and she also sent a few of Christmas dinner with her boo.

Monica hosted a celebrity filled birthday bash for her L.A. Laker fiance’ Shannon Brown last weekend (December 5th).? The party was thrown at the Colony in L.A. and Shannon and Mo basked in the glow of their hot new romance.

Shannon and Mo first celebrated his birthday along with their kids at Millions of Milkshakes, but this party was strictly for the grown & sexy! Check out the cake… a replica of Shannon’s Laker jersey:

The adorable couple partied with Shannon’s teammates and friends, including Ron Artest, Derrick Fisher & his wife Candace, rapper Too Short, Steph Jones and more.

Newly engaged couple Monica and Shannon Brown celebrated Shannon?s 25th birthday at Millions Of Milkshakes in Westfield Culver City over the weekend.

The loving couple were joined by their all their children, which included Mo’s sons Romelo (2) and ?Lil Rocko? (5), and Brown?s son nicknamed ?Fatman?(1).

The NBA player created his own charity milkshake called The ?Rim Reaper? and 50% of the proceeds from the sales of Shannon?s shake will go to the Shannon Brown Foundation.

Monica may be basking in the glow of her new love but she’s also celebrating her recent Grammy nomination.

Rumor Control: Is Monica Pregnant… Again?

Word on the curb is Monica may be knocked up with her third child. Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things, I mean, she’s engaged to a NBA Baller who will most definitely take care of the kid.

As you recall, Mo and Shannon Brown announced their quickie engagement within 5 months of their meeting on the set of Monica’s Love All Over Me video shoot.

The two fell in love and the rest is history.

The families all met last weekend during Mo’s 30th birthday celebration, so if she is pregnant this is perfect timing.?? Shoot… Shannon just got his NBA championship ring, a baby would just be icing on the cake.

We all know that Mo wants a big family so this rumor doesn’t really surprise me. I’m reaching out to her camp now to find out if these rumors are true.

If so… let’s start planning the baby shower. Phaedra style.
