Rihanna and Chris Brown each hit national television last night in what I called a “Battle” of sorts. Rihanna’s 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer finally aired in it’s entirety and if you’ve seen the previous GMA clips, you’ve basically seen it all. Rihanna does, however, touch on why she felt the need to return to Chris’ side so soon after the beat down and why she eventually decided it was best to let the relationship go. I honestly felt that she was being sincere, although the timing of the interview has been questioned, specifically in light of Rih-Rih’s new album dropping soon.
Rihanna admits she still has feelings for Chris but says that she’s “annoyed” that he still lives in her heart. Chris, in his MTV interview with Sway, also says that he still cares for Rihanna and admits that he’s made some poor choices these past few months since the attack. He attempts to address some of the criticisms he’s received over his twittering habits and how people perceive him as not taking his sentence seriously. MTV also brings in Dr. Callahan ,who has also appeared on Oprah, to give a bit of insight on dating/domestic abuse.
You can watch both interviews in their entirety below and judge for yourself. Pick a side…any side! Rihanna v. Chris Brown’s Battle of the TV Interviews below: (more…)
You see tons of celebrity photos on all the blogs everyday, but do you ever wonder who’s behind the camera? You may recognize photo service names like WireImage or Getty, but there’s one name in particular that is making waves all across the country on the hip-hop scene…. Johnny Nunez! I’ve run into him quite a few times, but never really had a real conversation until recently. It’s funny how life has a way of connecting you with people. He’s a totally cool dude and is the man behind many of your favorite hip-hop celebrity photographs, sometimes capturing them in classic unconventional poses. Check out a few of Johnny’s memorable shots below:
Snippet number two of Rihanna’s 20/20 interview with Dianne Sawyer aired on Good Morning America this morning. In this clip, Rihanna discusses the actual beating incident in the car and gives details about how the fight actually started. As detailed in the police report, Rihanna admits to reading the text messages on Chris Brown’s phone from another girl. An argument ensued and… well… you know the rest.
“It escalated to him being violent towards me and… it was ugly.” She later described the look in Brown’s eyes as he beat her, “All I kept thinking the whole time was ‘when is it going to stop? when is it going to stop?’ He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him.”
A portion of Rihanna’s 20/20 interview with Dianne Sawyer aired on Good Morning America this morning amidst all the hoopla about it being in her first televised interview since being battered by former boyfriend Chris Brown. In an emotional sit down with Dianne Sawyer, Rih Rih explains how she feels obligated to speak out about the incident in hopes of letting other women going through the same situations know they are not alone:
“There are a lot of women who experienced what I did, but not in public. I just felt like ‘Oh my God, here goes my little bit of privacy. Here I am the whole world knowing.’”
The pop star said how it was “embarrassing” that Brown was the type of person she fell in love with.
So far in love. So unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatizing experience…
Rihanna has released another single from her upcoming Rated R album and it’s title is as “Hard” as the song itself! With an abrasive party beat, Rihanna and my boo Young Jeezy rap about how “Hard” they are.
“Tougher than a lion/ Ain’t no need in trying/ I live where the sky ends, yup, you know this/Never lying, truth teller/ That Rihanna reign just won’t let up/ … The hottest b*tch in heels right here.”
In Jeezy’s verse, he talks about his progression from the block to the big leagues:
I used to run my block like Obama and them/ Don’t believe me, ask my momma and them/ Tell ‘em give me back my swag/ They tried to clone me/ See my Louis Chucks, Louis flag, Louis flames, Louis belt/ What that make me, ‘Louis Mane’?/ … ‘Hard,’ if one word describes me/ If I wasn’t doing this, you know where’d I be.
So… in a word. The song is appropriately entitled, “Hard”!
Rihanna has announced the completion of her fourth original studio album, Rated R, ans has dropped the first single called Russian Roulette today (10/20) and the video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will premiere on ABC primetime.
The album is scheduled for release November 23rd and the song, written and produced by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo and produced by Chase & Status, is already tearing up these internet streets. Rihanna’s vocals are astounding on the track and if this is a sample of what’s to come, Rated R is already platinum!
Rihanna was spotted in New York yesterday fresh from the shooting of her upcoming album cover in Berlin. She was caught by the paparazzi as she arrived at a recording studio last night (October 13).
Sporting a sleek new blonde haircolor and slightly a longer fauxhawk, RiRi did the dayum thang as usual:
