NEWSFLASH! Prom “proposals’ have been a “thing” for a while now, but apparently there’s a new trend forming that includes watermelons & KFC!

The photo above went viral recently and many were appalled and offended by the racist undertones.

Social media has allowed ‘the world’ to become a part of the latest fad where teens create elaborate proposals for their intended prom date and between the months of April through June, photos related to prom season flood the net… however recently the “cutesy” tone has taken a bizarre turn!

Now, among the kids using ornate, theatrical, and thoughtful ways to ask their fellow classmates to prom, several have chosen to employ racist epithets and offensive cultural stereotypes…. and now they’re all going viral.
