Pretty Ricky hit up the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards red carpet in matching black sequined jackets. They made the rounds and gave their same lil customary group speech but surprised me with an impromtu verse from “Tipsy”. Lingerie, the newest member of the group (and lead singer in lieu of Pleasure P) spit of verse acapella and blew me away. Check out the video below:
Custom Whipz Auto Spa held a special Meet & Greet last week geared towards connecting artists directly with bloggers and media in Atlanta. Kaspa Da Don (of Hittmenn Dj’s and Zone 4) spear headed the campaign to unite these two forces and recruited me to gather up the troops. Now…this was the first EVER event that I personally had a hand in and I accepted the challenge. Drumma Boy, Pretty Ricky, Young Dose, Poppa Snoop, Big Bank Black, Lo Fat, Mika Means, DeeDee Cocheta (ABC Publicity), Willie Hustle, Tommy Gunz and more all came through. Check out the flix below:
Mo Moet…Mo Moet…and Mo Moet!
ATLien & DrummaBoy…I’ll let him throw the “M” on my site (but only you…Drumma!)
Pretty Ricky
Me & Mika Means…Girls Club 4Life!
Our sponsors, Moet and Mercedes Benz of Buckhead, made sure that all guests were well fed and filled with champagne! Food was provided by Cafe 29 and I’d like to personally thank all of my blogging buddies for showing mad love and coming out to support. I was actually working the event so I had to depend on them for coverage and they did the dayum thang! Check out video footage and more photos below:
‘Sexy’ Spectacular of Pretty Ricky felt the need to do a Part 2 video for his “Tipsy” challenge afterthe first video caught so much flack. I’ve got to give him props…he did take into consideration how he appeared in the red speedo’s, opting this time for a pair of boxer briefs and flip flops. What he fails to realize is that it’s the GRINDING that’s branding him as a certified fruit loop and not necessarily the undies. *sigh* I have no words at all for what you’re about to witness if you choose to press play, EXCEPT that there should be a law against molesting innocent furniture…
I sat down with Pleasure P a few days ago during his private listening session for his upcoming solo project entitled “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper.” Prior to us getting down to business, P decided to go ahead an answer the one burning question that was on everyone’s mind: What the hell did he think of his former Pretty Ricky bandmate Sexy Spec’s Grind Challenge video? The answer surprised quite a few of us, since those red speedo’s and fruity spins were fresh on all our brains:
I ain’t gone let y’all sit and talk bad about him…because I was once in a group with him and I’m never gonna forget that. I was on the stage with him and we had a lot of good times. I would never let nobody talk bad about him around me. While I’m here, if y’all would please just keep down your comments and stuff…. I just want him to do his thang and that’s what he’s doing and I’m doing me. That’s the best way I can handle this situation.
And if I were your homeboy, I would do the same thing. If I was in a group with you, even if we don’t talk, even if we ain’t cool no more… I would never throw you under the bus. Never.
Pleasure P’s a real stand up dude! I can really respect that. *sigh* OK…since we got that out the way early, we were all free to enjoy the unreleased music we voluntarily came to hear. I was actually quite impressed by several tracks.
Peep a few samples from Pleasure P’s upcoming album below as well as his explanation as to why he finally left Pretty Ricky:
I mentioned on my Twitter yesterday that I really didn’t think that the “Tipsy” song was that bad and that the vision of Sexy Spec twirling around in his baggy red Speedo’s basically skewed everyone’s judgment. Like for real…how can we listen to the song with all that going on? CardioDoctor2b quickly responded: “U need to put it up on ur site without the video then”… so here it is just for him!
