In case you missed it, here are a few clips from Oprah’s “Good Hair” show yesterday. The show delved into the processes Black women go through and Oprah invited Chris Rock to share scenes from his new documentary “Good Hair.” Beyonce’s baby sis also appeared, sharing her story of why she decided to rock a low cut. In a surprise revelation, So told Oprah that she used to spend upwards of $50,000 on her hair before chopping it all off.
Check out what Solange had to say about her choice to go au naturale as well as a some behind the scenes footage from the taping below:
I have a special place in my heart for Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston because of all their cracky antics around the city of Atlanta. And anyone who knows me is aware of how I feel about how Whitney blames Bobby for her downfall. (Click Here to watch Whitney’s revelations about Bobby on Oprah). Bobby was just a young piece of meat when he got caught up with Whitney and it’s my personal assumption that she molded HIM into the man he is today. No one knows the truth about the situation but Whitney & Bobby but all I’m sayin is….don’t let Whitney’s new teeth fool you.
Bobby felt the need to respond to his ex-wife recently and I don’t think he’s willing to take the blame for corrupting the multi-billion dollar corporation that is “Whitney Houston.” Bobby says that contrary to popular belief it wasn’t all his fault…they “corrupted each other.” Bobby seemed quite clean & sober in the video, as well as diplomatic. I give him mad props for keepin it classy…. this time.
Y’all got y’all’s free chicken yet? Did you wait in line at your local KFC with your pre-printed coupons to take advatage of Oprah’s gift? I, personally, didn’t buy into the nonesense. It’s not that I don’t like chicken…but saving $4.00 is not worth me waiting hours. I value my time. Shoot! I’m with ole boy in the video….I’ll just head over to popeye’s where there ain’t no line!
I haven’t heard any ATL horror stories, but I did see where those crazy New Yorkers acted up….again! Click Here to read about the recent ‘chicken riots’ sparked by Oprah’s free chicken give-away. It’s really no surprise, I expected worse. Hell…we act crazy even when the chicken ain’t free! SMH…drop the price $1 and see what happens.
Keri Hilson has become to butt of way too many jokes lately. Y’all got me bout to dye my hair blonde and make a Chris Cocker video soon screaming “Leave Keri’s mushroom alooooone!” I’ve gotta admit though…some of these are hella funny! When Oprah said she and Gayle had bought Hilson’s album a few years back during their road trip at a BP for $2, I almost choked on my chicken nachos!
Yes…there’s more! *sigh*….Ciara tells Keri “You betta tell your sh*tty stans to keep it cute or I’ll call big sis Monica and have her pull the gun out of her Louis!” I think might haveta make that same call….but on CiCi. Those Ciara Stans are hell and have way too much time on their hands.
This has absolutely nothing to do with O.S.A.M.s. Or maybe it does? Seeing as it’s one of the last posts this 2009 Women’s History Month, perhaps it’s a conduit (or excuse) for re-evaluating: 1.) every bad (and good) romantic relationship I’ve ever been in, and 2.) why I’m a woman who’s always been lousy at……..sharing cookies?
I’ll buy me some cookies quick, fast and in a hurry, and Neiman Marcus at Lenox has the best chocolate chip cookies EV-ER. As I had a doctor’s appointment Monday morning that required I not eat for the 8 hours beforehand, I took myself to lunch there for succulent shrimp salad and some of those N(eedless) M(arkup) cookies immediately after that doctor let me go. On my way out the door, I saw Steve Harvey looking at ties. Later that same day, I saw him on Oprah. Wednesday morning, I got a chain email about said appearance on Oprah. See how exciting life really is in The A?
While I ain’t never gonna be mad at a black man truly in love with a black woman (’specially in ‘Lanta), I was kinda skeptical at this particular black man (of all folk) going on Oprah (of all shows) trying to tell black women howta make that (of all things) happen. Here’s why:
Jennifer Hudson stopped by the Oprah Winfrey Show Friday (February 27, 2009) for Oprah’s Friday Live show. Jennifer spoke about her Super Bowl performance, the Grammys, her fiance David (Punk) Otunga and her upcoming Tour with Robin Thicke. The interview was basically a love fest and any hard questions were obviously ignored. Jennifer did, however state that she’s “in a good place” and prays everyday before performing “If This Isn’t Love” from her Grammy winning album.
