“One of our detectives is working on it, she’s our white-collar crime specialist and she has identified 145 victims within our jurisdiction, several of them businesses, and an additional 115 victims in other jurisdictions, so you’re looking at over 260 victims right now,” said Maj. Don Woodruff with the Duluth Police Department.The victims, according to police, are now out of more than $1 million collectively as the result of identity theft and financial fraud.

Crawford is in jail on charges related to the crimes. Dalyrimple was also involved, according to police. “He was the biological father and the child was turned over to the grandmother in custody and then he went to the day care, picked him up and left with him,” said Woodruff. Police would not say anything more about how they believe the two were able to get the money and personal information of others.

Hey you guys…I want to introduce a new feature that starts tomorrow.  I’ve finally taken a cue from a few of the StraightFromTheA veterans who suggested that I start compiling videos of celebs speaking on their favorite Atlanta memories.  I’ve gotten quite a few for you gus and have decided that since Friday’s are already slated as the day I post ‘flashback’ videos, I’d continue with that theme and include a new video each week of O.S.A.M.s or Old School Atlanta Memories.  A few I’ve already captured on film include my boo, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, who reminisced about his days chillin at Charles Disco and Slim from 112 who cut the video short when he found out my ties to one of his teachers. I can’t wait to share them with you! 

I’ve also recruited a fellow ATLien who’ll be writing under the moniker ‘Ms Auburn’ as in Auburn Ave.  Ms Auburn will do her O.S.A.M column each Friday as well.  Of course ALL of you are invited to join in on our Old School fun.  I’ve even promised to reveal some of my tales of growing up in the SWATs (translation = Southwest Atlanta). I can’t wait!!!

I had to disappear for a minute yesterday and caught a ton of flack from a few folks but it’s OK. My girl Monica’s song “Don’t Take It Personal” made me put everything in perspective. This old school joint came on the A-pod while I was on my mini road trip and I promise you…I had to hit repeat about 3 times! Like for real…sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do…Don’t take that sh*t so personal! and speaking of personal. Some larger than life bloggers are really *cough*  feeling themselves these days! They take and take without giving credit, then whine about not being acknowledged as a source. I just want to put it out there that there are several blogs that I personally read on a regular basis….and yours is NOT one of em. It ain’t that serious. Get over yourself…

Mmmmmm…yummy! There ain’t nothing like a big ole dude in booty shorts and tube socks to kick off a holiday. I had no idea Mr. T. could rap and I still don’t, but I guess it was a good try. Almost like listening to a song by the Cookie Monster…or DMX…but I digress! The message is still good…”TREAT YOUR MOTHER RIGHT today!” Happy Mother’s Day!
