Bishop Eddie Long has been laid to rest.
Friends and family members including Long’s wife, Vanessa, sons Jared and Eric and daughter Taylor, paid their respects to their spiritual leader during the Home-going services held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church yesterday (Wednesday, January 25, 2017).
Long died January 15th, 2017 at the age of 63. He had reportedly been battling an aggressive form of cancer.
The mega church leader, who founded New Birth Missionary Baptist Church was sent to glory in a nearly 8 hour ‘celebration of life’ that also drew several of his celebrity supporters including former Gov. Roy Barnes, Deion Sanders and more.

Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist church has passed away after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
Over the past few months, Long has been suffering with a health crisis and he even released a statement following his extreme weight loss and dramatic change in appearance.

Sadly, today social media is ablaze this morning with news that Eddie long had died after one of Long’s fellow pastor’s announced his death via Twitter.

A teary-eyed Eddie Long then admitted during the service that he once considered taking his own life when he was going through that Gay sex scandal a few years back, but he thanked his church and it’s faithful followers for standing by him.

When news of Bishop Eddie Long’s 5th accuser hit the streets last week (click HERE if you missed it), I couldn’t help but wonder how members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church felt about the new scandalous developments.
Fox-5 was on it again, catching church members as they left bible study last Wednesday evening, and well… it appears they’re all still drinking Long’s Kool-aid…
“Bishop Long is a man of god,” said one supporter. “People are trying to tear him down in all kinds of ways. I don’t believe the first one, and I don’t believe him now.”
When asked if she heard about the fifth accuser, the woman replied, “Yes. I think that’s just a scam to bring him down. He’s bringing the word out so strong right now. They (are) just trying to bring him down.”
One male parishioner said the accusations don’t matter to him at all:
“That doesn’t matter to me. I know who he is and it’s just talk. He’s a good spiritual dad. So that’s all I can say.”

It’s official. Bishop Eddie Long’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is laying off jobs and cutting salaries.
New Birth is one of the largest mega churches in the country with over 25,000 members on it’s roster. Over $20 million dollars was collected from it’s members through tithes and offerings last year, with more than $1 million designated directly to Eddie Long’s pockets as love offerings.
So with all those people and all that money coming in, why in the world would the church be laying off jobs and cutting salaries? Continue Reading…
