Michael Vick may have ended the NFL season on a losing note in the playoffs, but he just made a winner out of Oprah Winfrey… at least he will next week.
Winfrey made a lil wager with with Piers Morgan that she’d beat Larry King’s CNN replacement in landing the Vick interview. She bet him “200-pounds” during Morgan’s first show (“200 pounds” stems from Morgan being a Brit) and Vick’s appearance next week makes Miss O the winner of the bet. Vick , who served 18 months in prison over a dogfighting operation, is scheduled to sit down for a one-on-one interview with Oprah on Feb. 24th to discuss, amongst other things, his prison time for dog-fighting crimes, and how he’s turned his life around.
Vick was reinstated to the NFL for the 2009 season and has been doing public-service work with organizations like PETA and the Humane Society, every since his release.
Mike’s story is a classic tale of redemption and I, for one, will be sitting front and center watching him on Oprah. I hope he doesn’t shed any tears…

Philadelphia-area native Kobe Bryant showed his support for Micheal Vick last night as he rocked the Philly Eagles QB’s #7 jersey after the Lakers game in NYC.
According to the BlackSportsOnline, a few days earlier, Kobe sent Michael Vick an autographed Lakers jersey that the Eagles quarterback prominently displayed on the chair at his locker stall on Friday.
The Bryant Lakers jersey was signed, “To Mike Be Epic! Kobe 24.”
Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was also given a Bryant jersey by the former Lower Merion High basketball star.
As you know, the Eagles lost to the Packers last night in the first round of the playoffs. That means it’ll Green Bay vs. Atlanta at the dome next week. We would have preferred the Eagles… but such is life!
Several celebs were spotted courtside at last night’s Knicks/Lakers game, including Ciara (and her HAWT furry Louboutins), Denzel Washington, Spike Lee (of course), Dr. Dre, Lindsey Lohan and more.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Micahel Vick just got the best endorsement ever!
Vick, who was once named “The Most Disliked Person in Sports” has been slowly gaining support during his road to redemption, but now he’s getting it from the leader of the free world, President Barack Obama!
The Prez made a phone call recently that basically seals the deal on Vick’s comeback.
Yup… you read right!
The PRESIDENT of the effing United States of America went out of his way to publicly praise a man who, 3 1/2 years ago, many thought would never again play in the NFL.
Even the most ardent believers in Vick could never have fathomed a turn-around like this. Continue Reading…
Michael Vick has reportedly canceled the 2nd season of his BET reality show, “The Michael Vick Project.” Vick says he would rather concentrate on his game on the field rather then having cameras in his face 24/7.
“I put a stop to that. They asked me to do it. I don’t have that lifestyle.”
When asked about Vick’s comments, BET says Vick didn’t cancel the show….and neither did the network. “The Michael Vick Project” canceled itself.
Mike says he’s not doing a 2nd season, but BET says that the reality show was only intended to last one season. The premiere episode (which you can watch HERE) did exceptionally well — capturing the attention of 1.8 million viewers, but the show ended with only about 800,000 viewers tuning in.
I think it’s a good thing that Vick got a chance to say his peace on camera to the world, but he can only be beat up on for so long. One season was more than enough for him to get his point across.
Great job Mike! Now go get em on the field!!
The man has served his time, moved on to another team and after almost a year out of the big house, Michael Vick is still in the dog house!
Vick spent 21 months in jail after admitting to his involvement in a dog fighting ring and although he still has love in the “A” he was let go from the Atlanta Falcons shortly after his release. Now playing as backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Vick has still faced obstacles and opposition to his success.
Last March, Vick received the Ed Block Courage Award and humbly endured a ton of angry protesters and now, for the second year in a row, he’s been rated the most hated man in sports! Continue Reading…
Eagles QB Michael Vick was honored Tuesday night as one of 32 NFL players to receive the Ed Block Courage Award. It was the first award he received since being reinstated by the NFL in September 2009.
As he arrived to receive his award, Mike was met by about 100 protesters carrying signs with slogans such as “No awards for dog killers” and “Cowards abuse animals,”.
Vick’s Philadelphia teammates unanimously nominated him for award, which honors one player from each NFL team. While protesters screamed outside the banquet hall where he received the award, Vick was asked whether or not he felt deserving of the honor: Continue Reading…
