The show, entitled The Michael Vick Project, will trail the football player on his controversial comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles while also examining his troubled childhood and legal troubles stemming from his infamous 2007 arrest for running a dog fighting ring.

On the new docu-series, Vick explains:

“I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”

I’m happy for him and will definitely be supporting his endeavors. The show is set to premiere in early 2010 and the Vick haters are already busy. Check out what PETA has to say below: (more…)

For the first time since serving his prison sentence for taking part in a dog fighting operation, former Falcon’s quarterback Michael Vick sits down in an on screen interview. He’s finally free to talk about his experiences now that he’s been picked up by a team. Friday, during a press conference, Vick announced that he signed a two year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hopefully, the man can finally move forward and live his life. Vick has served his time, paid his dues but some people still can’t let go of the animosity.

In an in-depth one on one interview with 60 minute’s James Brown, Vick explains what he did, why he did it and how he says he’s changed.

When I was in prision I was disgusted because of what I let happen to those animals. I could have put a stop it. I could have walked away from it. I could have shut the entire operation down. But I didn’t…

When asked how he felt about losing his huge contract. Vick humbly admitted that he deserved it:

Football don’t even matter. Losing a $135 million dollar contract doesn’t matter. It don’t matter. I deserved to lose that because of what I was doing…

In case you missed it, check out the full interview below:

Young Jeezy issued a warm “Welcome Back” to former Atlanta Falcon quarterback Michael Vick recently during his stop in Virginia for the AMW tour. The two chopped it up and Mike introduced his lil cousin, who’s an aspiring artist. Vick, who’s finally free from federal custody is also in Atlanta today to speak on behalf of the Human Society. He is currently at the New Life Community Center to speak to kids about dogs, dogfighting and how to deal with potentially violent dogs, but according to the Associated Press, media wasn’t allowed in the building:

The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback entered the New Life Community Center through a back entrance Saturday for an event put on by the Humane Society of the United States.

However, several members of the community were barred from entering the building. The society also refused to allow The Associated Press to enter.

Vick is still searching for a home team and has been conditionally reinstated by the league after completing his 23-month federal sentence for running a dogfighting ring. His Atlanta visit is a step to improve his image since his release. We’re all rooting for you Mike!

Check out Jeezy’s warm welcome below: (more…)

All is right with the world! Former Falcon’s quarterback Michael Vick has been reinstated back into the NFL. Finally. With conditions. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement yesterday via a press conference. Goodell’s conditional reinstatement permits Vick to latch on immediately with any team that will have him, with full membership and participation. Vick can even play in the final two preseason games. This is major being that there are still those who hate on the embattled quarterback. He’s been given another chance and I’m oh so happy right now!

Vick is suspended for the beginning of the regular season, but can show up at headquarters and do all the heavy lifting required to fit in and come back.
After spending 19 months in federal prison for his conviction for financing a dogfighting operation, former Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback Mike Vick is adjusting comfortably to home confinement. Since he still has a ton of haters, I’m sure they’re all fuming at the pics and video of him chillin at the crib released by RadarOnline. But whatEV! I’m quite pleased to see him finally out and spending time with his family. It’s way overdue!

Vick will spend the next two months being monitored at his five-bedroom Virginia home and working a $10-an-hour job as a construction laborer. He’s scheduled to be released from federal custody on July 20, and then faces three years of supervised probation. The photos (above) portray him visiting with children from the Vick Foundation, a nonprofit formed for at-risk youth, while the video shows Vick speaking about his days in prison as he interacts with his two daughters. Vick’s fiancee, Kijafa Frink, can also be heard behind the camera:

House arrest isn’t exactly torture for former NFL star Michael Vick. Sure, he’s sporting an electronic-monitoring device on his ankle, but he’s serving out his 60-day sentence in style at his posh 5-bedroom brick home on his sprawling estate in Hampton, Virginia and gets to see his fiancée and their two daughters.

Four cars pulled up to Vick’s five-bedroom brick home at the end of a cul-de-sac at about 8:25 a.m Thursday. The caravan was led by a black Kia Sedona with curtains shielding the back seat from view and sunshields on the front side windows. Vick was in the Sedona along with his fiancee, Kijafa Frink, said Chris Garrett, a member of Vick’s support and legal team.

He was also greeted by his 19 month old daughter (London) who was born just weeks prior to the start of his sentence.

Mike was fitted with an electronic monitoring device, which he’ll wear for the two months he spends under home confinement. He and law officials walked outside on his back deck briefly to make sure the device was working properly. Mike will spend the next two months being monitored at home but has been permitted to work outside the home as a construction laborer wtih WM Jordon Construction in Virginia. He will be a $10 hourly employee for at least the next two months. The job is part of his probation, but of course his ultimate goal is to return to the NFL. Hopefully he’ll be given the opportunity, since he has paid for his crime. (Source 1 and 2)
