Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges has partnered with San Francisco restaurateur Chris Yeo to open several restaurants in Metro Atlanta. The first, which will be called “Straits”, is set to open in April of this year in Midtown. Straits will be located at 793 Juniper St. (at Fifth Street) in the building that was formerly the restaurant Spice.
The menu looks good so I’ll definitely be adding this spot to my list! The hours will be 5 p.m. to midnight (Monday through Wednesday) 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. (Thursday through Saturdays) and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays. There are no lunch hours specified but they will open for brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

The 16th annual Trumpet Awards were held in the “A” last weekend (as well as a monster truck rally and an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game)! Downtown traffic was on lock…but I did navigate through in time to meet my friends at Stats to watch the game!
My favorite elf/actor/rapper, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges received the Usher Raymond Altruism Award for his philanthropy and his establishing a foundation to use music and the arts to connect to urban youth.
Since I wasn’t privy to the goings on at the awards show, I dug up a few photos of the event. Attendees included Mayor Shirley Franklin, Chris Tucker, Brian Jordan, Andrew Young, Keith Sweat, Frank Ski and more.

One of my favorite Atlanta elves artists, Ludacris, and the Ludacris Foundation hosted a “Ludacrismas Party” today for 150 children in the A. The event was held at the Woodruff Arts Center and the kids (aged 6-12) were selected from several Atlanta metro communities. The kids got to see the movie “Fred Claus” (which features Luda as one of Santa’s Elves) as well as play WII games, take pictures with Sanda, and Build-a-Bear.
That’s why Ludacris is so loved in the “A”! He always gives back to the community. Click Here to see pics of the event over at the AJC.
Also check out this video below of the new single “Ludacrismas”. The song will be featured in the Soundtrack from the Fred Claus movie. I will definately be adding this song to my Christmas playlist!
