Last night (Oct. 12th), ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) who reps everyone from Beyonce to Jay-Z & Ludacris kicked off their 2nd annual ASCAP Presents… Women Behind the Music in Atlanta.
Grammy Award winning multi-platinum singer Kelly Rowland of super-group Destiny’s Child was honored along with Entertainment attorney Sandra Brown(Jermaine Durpi/Akon) and Hanna King(GM of Grand Hustle/T.I).
DJ Traci Steele & Rashan Ali
Hosted by V103’s Rashan Ali (luv the shoes!) and with music by DJ Traci Steele, the annual event series is designed to promote, and recognize the impact women have made in the entertainment industry, and specifically music. The honorees all participated on a discussion panel where they shared secrets to being a successful in a male dominated industry. I learned a lot just by being in the room!
Also spotted: Devyne Stephens, DJ Traci Steele, Johnta Austin, Shanti Das, Princess (Crime Mob) and more.
So So Def R&B singer Dondria gets all glammed up in her new video for her 2nd single, “Shawty Was Up” featuring Johnta Austin and Diamond. I sat down with Dondria back in December and she’s really been making waves since then!
With the hot single “You’re the One,” and an NBA All-Star Game national anthem performance now under her belt, Dondria just completed the visual “Shawty Was Up” and shooting took place at several spots around Atlanta this week.

Check out the new video from The Oceans 7 (Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael-Cox, Nelly Trey Songz, InTyNational and Usher) for “Swag On”. Usher is M.I.A. in the video and replaced by Bow-wow…who’s still awaiting membership to the club, but he spits a hot verse on the song.
Their new mixtape is coming soon and is sure to be a banger since they’re always in the dayum studio! Check out a new leak from the project “That Girl” under the cut:
Check out this new song I just got in my inbox from Johnta Austin called “Take It Back.” It’s a classic R&B joint that reminds me that there’s still come good music out there…somewhere. Most of the time when I can’t say something good, I just don’t say anything…so believe me when I say, this song right here is the ish…and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really like Johnta all that much since that whole Christina Milian thing.
Check out this So So Def exclusive from the Jermaine Dupri feat. Johnta Austin called “Where’s The Love.” Jermaine, Johnta, B.Cox, Ty, and Usher who formed the ‘Ocean’s Five’, have been in the studio for quite some time preparing for Ush’s next project. Now they’ve added a 6th, Trey Songz and have found time to compile their own lil mixtape called…what else? “The Oceans Six Mixtape”
Bow Wow got his paws wet yesterday at Planet Hollywood NY as he promoted the upcoming release of New Jack City II. As the miniature rapper left a caste of his hands to be held on display at the restaurant, he took a moment to discuss his good friend Chris Brown’s situation with OK magazine:
“I’ve been in a high profile relationship before and I know how it feels when everybody’s in your business. It just puts more pressure. And the only way they’re going to get over the situation is just to let them deal with it. And that’s what I really want to do. I’m praying for them both.”
Bow Wow, who says he hasn’t spoken to either Chris or Rihanna, says he couldn’t believe the horrifying picture that leaked on the internet last week, showing the singer with cuts and bloodied bruises on her face.
“Just shocking…I mean we heard what happened but we really didn’t get a visual for it. But I mean hey, man. The picture speaks for itself.”
Anywhoo…Bow Wow’s new video, “You Can Get It All” featuring Johnta Austin below:
