Some flashback footage of Jermaine Dupri has been circulating the net showing the mogul way before he was famous. JD rocks a highlighted gumby while his mom, Cecelia Mauldin speaks about her rapper/producer son and his talents. In the video, JD (circa 1986) gives a bit of advice to up and coming producers by telling them that it’s a must to have the right people behind them and to never give up. It’s so refreshing to see how hard work and passion pays off.

Janet Jackson & Jermaine Dupri were spotted holding hands while leaving LaGuardia airpart after touching down in NYC earlier today. Rumors of their demise have obviously been greatly exaggerated in that the couple has still been boo’d up all over the globe. A source explained Jermaine’s absence from Janet’s side during Michael Jackson’s funeral as him wanting to give her some space to grieve, “They never really broke up. Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died.”

The rumor mill with these two is usually one extreme or the other. They’re either broken up or secretly married. In addressing the marriage rumors, Jermaine told press, “They’ve been saying that for years and you don’t see a ring on my finger. I guess it just sounds good to have that rumor this time of the year or something.”

Jermaine Dupri and Shawntae Harris aka Da Brat have been hit with a lawsuit over an assault that occurred in Studio 72 several years ago. Shayla Stevens, a former Atlanta Falcons and model, has filed a civil lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court, claiming Da Brat struck her in the face with a bottle, causing serious injuries. The lawsuit claims Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, has a criminal record and violent past record of assaulting other women.

The party was billed as a birthday celebration for both Lil Rocko and Romelo but Monica let me in on a lil secret. It wasn’t actually either of the boy’s birthdays but Lil Rock wanted a day they both could share, so being the great Mom that she is…Mo gave her babies what they wanted. Atlanta’s celebs came out in droves last night to raise money for victims of the recent Atlanta Flood. Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, & V-103 hosted the celebrity charity bowling event entitled, Atlanta Stand-Up at Red Carpet Lanes in Duluth. I, personally witnessed the friendly competition between JD and Nelly’s team vs. Big Boi & nem. I have no idea who won but there was a ton of cash on the heads of all involved.

Spotted in their best bowing attire were Lance Gross, Trey Songz, Neffe, Kandi, Rasheeda, Frankie, Big Gipp , Lil’ Brotha, Mike Bigga (formerly Killer Mike) and more! The event was not without it’s drama, being that a one Atlanta Blogger got booted for talking about JD’s height, but other than that it was a positive fun event.

Monica hit up her twitter recently and shared a photo of her and Michael Jackson. She also dropped a few kind words to the Jackson family for their loss:
