If you haven’t heard of the Rich Kid$ yet you may just need to get out more often. Not 1 but TWO Rich Kid$ singles have been getting mad airplay in the “A” and they have been coined the next musical movement from Atlanta. Comprised of members: Rashard, Babe Kaelub, Baby Charles, Lil Juney and Skool Boy, The Rich Kids have the Atlanta underground music-scene going nuts. The group is a collection of all-star talent from Atlanta’s own Frederick Douglass, Westlake and Southside High Schools (APS stand up!!) and the two hit singles bubbling in Atlanta are the melodic “Wassup” and the club-banger “My Patna Dem”. Check em both out below:
Tiny held her birthday celebration last night for the first time in years without her boo T.I. All eyes were on here as it was revealed that Tip made sure his boo was taken care of even while he’s behind bars. Check out a few flix from Tiny’s birthday celebration last night at Luckie Food Lounge in Atlanta…and men, make a mental note of how to keep your woman happy even when you’re not around:
The queen arrives!
Toya , Lil Duval & Tiny
Lil Duval presents Tiny with her first surprise from her boo while Toya looks on.
Wonder what’s in the box?? Check out how Tip does it (even behind bars):
“This song, is an apology to anyone from age 8 to 80, that’s affiliated with or in any gang, To every parent (mother or father) that has lost a child to gang violence, every sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, partner or whomever that has lost a loved one or a friend to gang violence either by death or prison. Even if I never met you or have known you personally, I want to apologize for being the root of the evil that is plaguing the youth of today, & I beg you for forgiveness the same way i would beg GOD to forgive me for every sin that i have committed, because i am 37 years old now, & i have finally become to realize by watching my own children that i wasn’t teaching something positive i was only teaching negatively”.
Sincerly yours,
Alfamega
P.S
I would like to end by saying, “Violence Only Begots Violence”,” Lets move to a more positive direction & I sincerly, hope that people understand me & what I am trying to say in this song. GOD BLESS US ALL”.
“Coolin everyday, ballin everyday, Neiman Marcus hoppin I be shopping everyday…”
Check out the newest video from Bola (aka BlkBettyBoop on Twitter) from the Grand Hustle camp called “Everyday” featuring Yung L.A. Y’all keep complaining that there aren’t any female rappers around…well here’s one for ya! Bola is one half of the group Xstaci and she seems to be able to hold it down all by herself with this song. It’s a good look….well…besides the fact that it’s all a FANTASY in this economy. It’s somebody’s reality….just not mine. *sigh* One day….
Check out the newest video from the Grand Hustle camp, Young Dro’s “Take Off” featuring Yung L.A. The song’s title has taken on a different meaning in light of all that whole Alfamega/snitch controversy. Lately these A-Town streets have been buzzing about the whole situation. Word on the street is Alfa may have TAKEN OFF…right into the witness protection program:
Now they say once a federal snitch, always a federal snitch. Soon after Alfa’s arrival in Atlanta, certain rappers and industry execs started getting busted by the feds left and right, and no one was the wiser. Especially T.I., who seems to be a very trusting sort. Bless his heart.
Anyway, now that Alfamega’s cover is blown, AHH’s purveyor of gossip, Ill Seed theorizes that the feds had to ghost Alfa out of town expeditiously. So Ill Seed claims the feds concocted a scheme to bust Alfamega publicly so he could go deep under cover into the witness protection program.
I was just having the same conversation the other day. Having grown up here I’ve managed to experience quite a bit. Over the past few years, Atlanta has grown full of “transplants,” a ton of whom tend to make up their history. It’s amazing how people will just “appear” in your circle from God knows where. Not saying that I’ve ever *cough* kicked it with gangsters…but er ummm. Let’s just say them Feds are some sneaky momo’s…
After documents surfaced recently that Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars had once been a paid informant, T.I. wasted no time in hitting the airwaves of Atlanta radio station 107.9 to release the following statement…“You’re FIRED!” Just kidding. Here’s what he really had to say:
I am stunned and totally surprised by the news about Alfa “Ced” Zellers. Even though all of our artists and employees are asked by us to be honest and open about their past history, at no time did Alfa disclose to me or Grand Hustle what has now appeared in the media. He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past, and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior.
As I’ve always said, you must take responsibility for your own actions. We at Grand Hustle can not support or condone blaming others for our own mistakes. I hope and pray that God blesses Cedric’s plans, but i don’t foresee me or my company playing a role in his personal or professional business.
Alfa is said to be incapacitated at an Atlanta area hospital and is severely injured from unknown reasons. I have so many questions right now. Who leaked those old “A”zz documents? Why now? Why is Alfa in the hospital? What does any of this have to do with him making music? We may never know the full story but it’s interesting nonetheless…
The KING, T.I.P. and his Grand Hustle Crew, which includes Young Dro, Bobby Ray (aka B.o.B.), Young LA, Big Kuntry, Killer Mike, Alfamega, Lil Duval and 8Ball & MJG all got together to participate in a photoshoot for The Source Magazine. The best part of this video for me was seeing Lil Duval walkin round with his laptop checkin his MySpace and Twittering (Twitter.com/LilDuval). When clowned about it, Duval responded that all of the crew were computer literate but none of em would admit it. All these dudes look like they ginuinely love and respect each other which hopefully will translate into some good music for them all. Grand Hustle HOMIE!
