Rocker Lenny Kravitz’s “Let Love Rule” tour hit Atlanta Wednesday evening for a showstopping performance at the Tabernacle. I heard that dayum near all of Atlanta joined him onstage as Lenny allowed Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupri, Nelly and even the Goodie Mob to hit the mic and rock with him during the show. I bet it was amazing!
The afterparty was held at a new spot called The Gold Room Though the Gold Room, located in the former Gold Club building on Piedmont Road.
Gold Bar
It’s not open to the public yet, but the club has been hosting quite a few private parties for Atlanta insiders. From the looks of the photos, Lenny Kravitz’ afterparty was just as hype as his concert at the Tabernacle. The rocker was again joined by Nelly, Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupri and my boos the Goodie Mob.

Oh… and you know it wouldn’t have been a party without “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”’s Sheree Whitfield. I heard shes on the prowl looking for her next meal ticket just in case she’s booted from the show. (more…)
Diamond (formerly of Crime Mob) shot the video yesterday for her hot new single “Superbad” featuring Cee-Lo Green. The shoot was held at Opera and Diamond was joined by Rasheeda, Tiny, Toya and more.

Tiny, Rasheeda & Toya. Tiny is rockin that dayum red hair!
You may have already heard the song over the Atlanta airwaves but just in case you’ve missed it:
“Superbad” ~ Diamond (of Crime Mob) ft. Cee-Lo Green
I’m feelin kinda bad that I couldn’t make it out there yesterday but there’s only one of me right now, and it’s hard to be everywhere. But judging from the pics and this clip I found, looks like it’s gonna be a hot video. Peep Diamond dropin a few dance moves plus grab the download link below: (more…)
I now pronounce this FLASHBACK Friday. Way before Cee-Lo came to his senses and decided to reunite with the group (Goodie Mob Reunion Concert Footage), there was a short documentary developed around the Goodie Mob which carried the name of their “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” project. The entire Dungeon Family, including Outkast, participated in the video and I give the directors much props for putting all this great footage together. If you’re a true southern hip-hop head, this is one video that’ll make your day. Happy Friday!
Video ~ Goodie Mob Documentary (Part 1)
Synopsis:Goodie Mob, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is widely considered one of the founding hip hop acts of the Dirty South movement. Members Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway), Khujo Goodie (Willie Knighton, Jr.), T-Mo Goodie (Robert Barnett), and Big Gipp (Cameron Gipp) make up the group, which has been functioning since 1995.
“GOODIE MOB”, as it’s written on their album covers, stands for “GOOD DIE Mostly Over Bullshit”. Cee-Lo notes in a song off the Soul Food album that, “[If] you take out one ‘O’ it stands for ‘GOD Is Every Man Of Blackness.’ ”
Its members were all born in Atlanta, and the group is based there with the rest of the Dungeon Family, a collective which includes OutKast and P.A. (Parental Advisory). Goodie was first heard featured on several songs from OutKast’s first album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
Cee-Lo was the most visible member of the group prior to his departure in 2000 (among other projects, he is now recording as Gnarls Barkley), while Big Gipp has made several rounds on other Dungeon Family members’ albums and a solo album Mutant Mindframe, and T-Mo and Khujo form a duo within the group called The Lumberjacks.
Atlanta’s celebs came out in droves last night to raise money for victims of the recent Atlanta Flood. Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, & V-103 hosted the celebrity charity bowling event entitled, Atlanta Stand-Up at Red Carpet Lanes in Duluth. I, personally witnessed the friendly competition between JD and Nelly’s team vs. Big Boi & nem. I have no idea who won but there was a ton of cash on the heads of all involved.
Nelly & Mike Bigga (aka Killer Mike)
Spotted in their best bowing attire were Lance Gross, Trey Songz, Neffe, Kandi, Rasheeda, Frankie, Big Gipp , Lil’ Brotha, Mike Bigga (formerly Killer Mike) and more! The event was not without it’s drama, being that a one Atlanta Blogger got booted for talking about JD’s height, but other than that it was a positive fun event.
I was actually too caught up in the moment to actually “work” this event, which is why I decided to use everyone else’s footage in my coverage of the reunion concert. Now that I’ve had a chance to come down off my Goodie Mob high, I actually took a peek at what was on my Flip Cam. You’d be surprised at some of the things I never upload! These two videos in particular stuck out the most and I have quite a bit of footage from the concert but my connection is too slow to share those today.
Sure you’ve seen footage of the concert already, but you havent seen mine…Ha! I’ll never get tired of reliving that concert and neither should you. I’ll upload them all eventually, but in the meantime here’s “Beautiful Skin” and “Cell Therapy”: (more…)
This wasn’t no regular ole concert. Nope. Not at all. ATLien’s united in the rain and mud to celebrate the reunion of one our most heartfelt groups. Khujo, T-Mo, Big Gipp & Cee-Lo. Collectively known as The Goodie Mob. The venue was outside and the weather was rainy but I, personally, was in heaven from the moment the show started. DJ Jelly was on the ones and twos providing Atlanta classic jams during each intermission while DJ Kizzy Rock, Pastor Troy & The Youngbloodz all performed as we celebrated our A-town musical history. These weren’t just no regular ole opening acts either. Each one has a history about as colorful as the Goodie Mob and each shared in the historical value of the event.

The most highly anticipated concerts of the year lived up to its expectations when at 9:42pm the legendary group Goodie Mob hit the stage despite the rain that had already started. When group members Cee-Lo, Khujo, Big Gipp and T-Mo hit the stage last night, the crowd went into a frenzy in anticipation of them performing some of their
biggest hits to date. Peep video and photos below: (more…)
The Goodie Mob is back together again and all is right with the world!! Yesterday all four members climbed aboard a “Special” MARTA bus assigned to tour nothing but the southside. *sigh* The memories… Besides the fact the I was having my own personal flashbacks about Mays High circa 1997 1987 *cough* oops I mean…hell y’all already know I been around these parts for quite some time. I ain’t shame! But besides all that, T-Mo, Khujo, Gipp & Cee-Lo each had their own personal stories to tell about life growing up on the southside of Atlanta.
The Goodie Mob’s “Special” MARTA bus
DJ Drama was designated as MARTA bus M.C and announced each stop in his signature fashion. Tour stops included The Rec at West Manor Park, Mays High School and of course the infamous “Dungeon” where the ATLien’s spit rhymes and created those soulful beats that our city is so famous for.
Goodie Mob take a moment to reflect in front of the “Dungeon” ~ Rico Wade’s now vacant home.
The final stop woulda/shoulda been Greenbriar Mall but I think we dwelled a lil too long in front of Rico Wade’s former diggs. The house which holds many memories of Dungeon Family antics now sits vacant and lonely. The multi-million dollar studio located in the basement of the property (hence the “Dungeon” tag) is now boarded and whatever remains inside has been secured by a metal pulldown fence: (more…)
