For the first time since serving his prison sentence for taking part in a dog fighting operation, former Falcon’s quarterback Michael Vick sits down in an on screen interview. He’s finally free to talk about his experiences now that he’s been picked up by a team. Friday, during a press conference, Vick announced that he signed a two year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hopefully, the man can finally move forward and live his life. Vick has served his time, paid his dues but some people still can’t let go of the animosity.

In an in-depth one on one interview with 60 minute’s James Brown, Vick explains what he did, why he did it and how he says he’s changed.

When I was in prision I was disgusted because of what I let happen to those animals. I could have put a stop it. I could have walked away from it. I could have shut the entire operation down. But I didn’t…

When asked how he felt about losing his huge contract. Vick humbly admitted that he deserved it:

Football don’t even matter. Losing a $135 million dollar contract doesn’t matter. It don’t matter. I deserved to lose that because of what I was doing…

Former Falcons running back Jamal Anderson was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Anderson, 36, and Mark Daniel Hudson, 20, both of Duluth, were caught sniffing powder cocaine off the back of a toilet tank by an off duty police officer. The two were found in the same stall inside the men’s room at Peachtree Tavern about 3 a.m.

A tavern patron alerted an off-duty Atlanta police officer to possible illegal drug use inside the restroom, he said.

“The patron had heard what he thought was sniffing from inside the stall and told the off-duty officer,” Redmond said. “The officer went into the restroom, heard the same sniffing and peered over the stall door. He saw Jamal Anderson and Mark Hudson sniffing two lines of powdered cocaine off the back of the toilet.”

Police said they found a 1-inch square bag of cocaine and a marijuana cigarette inside Anderson’s pocket. The men were arrested without incident and booked into the Fulton County Jail for felony possession of cocaine. Anderson was also cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Both men will be held overnight pending a first appearance in Magistrate Court at 11 a.m. Monday, said jail spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan.

Redmond said the tavern could be investigated for allowing Hudson, who is underage, inside the bar. (Source)

I know it’s hard times out there, but now you can’t even go grab a burger without some fool tryna gank your stuff! Ex-Atlanta Falcons player, Major Everett decided to hit up the Wendy’s on Boulevard a few days ago and two armed men approached his vehicle while in the dayum drive-through! The robbers forced him out of his vehicle and stole all his cash.

Everett, who played running back for the Falcons briefly in 1987 after several years with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, told police that a man with a handgun and wearing a ski mask approached the driver’s side of his 2000 Mercedes and said, “drop your money and get out of the car.”

The second suspect went to the passenger side of the Mercedes and pointed an Uzi at Everett, according to the report.

Everett dropped $70 inside the car and got out of the vehicle. The first suspect then got behind the wheel while the second man searched Everett’s pockets, telling him, “that’s not enough money; we need more money.”

The first suspect then drove off in the Mercedes, with the second man running behind the car. The second suspect got into the Mercedes in front of the Wendy’s and the two drove off.
The good thing is…no one was hurt and this was all caught on tape. The bad thing is….I gotta scratch that Wendy’s off my late night list. Dayum these goons!

Michael Vick, the embattled former Atlanta Falcons quarterback currently jailed in Leavenworth has been the topic of several stories recently. He’s been gone a while but definitely not forgotten. A McDonald’s restaurant in LA missed him so much that they used old Happy Meal boxes that carried Vick’s name and image. Well, pretty soon Vick may be chillaxin at the local Mickie Dees cause he could be a free man as soon as July 20, 2009. That’s right folks! Mark your calenders, circle your datebooks and update your Blackberry calendars cause once Vick is out the fun part will officially begin (plus he may need a ride from prison).

The big question though is WWCRGD? ~ (What Will Commissioner Roger Goodell Do?) Goodell has been known to forgive quite a few players for legal indiscretions. Most getting by with a mere suspension from the league… (more…)

The largest creditor is Joel Enterprises, Inc. with a claim of $4.5 million. (Source)

Why did I think that he’d already filed bankruptcy?

Dunn was one of Atlanta’s most productive and popular players over the past six seasons and was widely known and recognized for his community service work. He lead the team in rushing the last four seasons.

“Warrick Dunn holds himself to the highest standards of the National Football League,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement released by the team. “His contributions, not only to the Falcons but to the entire NFL both on and off the field, have been well documented. The legacy he leaves in Atlanta will be long-remembered and appreciated by his fellow players, fans and the community. In my mind, Warrick will always be part of the Falcons family. At times like this our hearts are heavy, but the nature of the game sometimes requires making these kinds of decisions, however difficult they are for all of us. I wish Warrick continued great success in his future endeavors.” (Source)
