Newsweek jump started the new year by posting a tweet bearing an insensitive image of Martin Luther King, Jr. yesterday (January 1, 2018).
The post, which included a photo of the slain civil rights leader in his casket along with the caption, “Has anybody here seen my old friend Martin?,” was quickly deleted after Bernice King but the media outlet on blast.

It was only a week ago that a fictitious story about mega-church pastor Creflo Dollar endorsing Donald Trump went viral.

Martin Luther King Day means different things to different people and while some consider it a ‘day-off’ many take the national holiday as a ‘day-on’ and pay homage to the late, great civic leader by spreading his message of peace through service.
That being said… while several ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ cast members chose to pop bottles up in the club, Attorney Phaedra Parks and legendary actress Kim Fields chose to spend their time in Miami for a peaceful ‘do-over’ with Florida Representative Frederica Wilson.
Fields caught a bit of flack after last week’s episode where she chose to excuse herself from a meeting with the Representative, stating that the subject matter was ‘too adult’ for her 8 year old son.
