Killer Mike celebrated the release of his new dual-disc “Underground Atlanta” last night at Mood Lounge in Atlanta.  I got the chance to catch up with all my fellow ATLiens as Mike gave us an up close and personal preview of the new joint.

My boo Twan Big Boi headlined the Atlanta leg of Heineken’s Red Star Soul event. The host for the evening was funnyman Kevin Hart and the opening acts were Mickey Factz and Mick Boogie.

Of course all of your a-town favs were in the house, including Killer Mike, Big Kountry King, Lil Duval and more. One highlight of my evening was meeting Kevin Hart, who lit up the room with his lil chocolate presence. Kevin and I chatted for a bit and he enlightened me about life and purpose when he explained to he how he never imagined being paid so well to do what he loves. He also stole a lil piece of my heart when he threw the “A” just for me:

Flix via Exclusive Access & KiddUNot

T.I. took over Miami last weekend and hosted a slew of parties. His all-white event, held at Jennifer Lopez’s mansion on Miami’s Star Island was the site of the grand finale. Several celebs were spotted in the crowd including Tyrese, Killer Mike, DJ Toomp and more.

The Grammy Nominee Reception (Atlanta Chapter) was held at the W Hotel on Thursday, January 29, 2009.  Big Boi, T.I., Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Dallas Austin and more were spotted at the affair. You know how they say, “it’s just an honor to be nominated” well this A-Town group are winners all the way!

Bryan Michael Cox and Taiye Samuel celebrated their birthdays at Uptown Lounge in Atlanta Saturday night. Young Jeezy celebrated his birthday Thursday night at Artistry in midtown Atlanta.  I received and invitation to the event and instead of stalking Jeezy from across the street, I got to chill with him up close & personal. Ciara came through still driving her Phantom and Jermaine Dupri, Slim Thug, Maino, Trey Songz, DJ Toomp and more shared Jeezy’s presidential affair.  There was also one very special guest on the list who had more VIP status than even Jeezy himself…his mom!

T.I. is on House Arrest and still doing more ish than any of y’all!!   You go boy!  T.I. joined forces with V-103’s Ryan Cameron to help Hosea’s Feed the Hungry.   The orgainzation, which holds annual charitable holiday feasts for Atlanta’s homeless community, had lost one of it’s largest supporters and Ryan Cameron’s show called in the Hip-Hop community to assist.
T.I. donated $20,000 and other Atlanta area celebs followed suit.  In less than three hours, $166,000 was raised!

Among those who responded, all with sizeable pledges, were Big Boi, Busta Rhymes, Neyo, Wyclef Jean, Jermaine Dupri, Mr. Collipark, DJ Toomp, Polow Da Don, Bow Wow, Warner Music Group Executive Vice President Kevin Liles, Devyne Stephens of Upfront Records, Mathew Knowles and Alex Gidewon of AG Entertainment. I’ve heard that T.I., who is currently under house arrest for gun charges,  has reunited with DJ Toomp and is currenlty working on new album, tentatively titled “Paper Trail”.  It’s a good look for both of them since Toomp has been on fire lately, producing songs for Kanye West (Good Life, Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Big Brother) and Jay-Z (Say Hello).
