Two of my favorite people were on television the other night and I totally missed them! Monica AND Celebrity Photographer Derek Blanks hit the stage on the Mo”Nique show earlier this week and it was like a family affair. Mo Nique invited Monica’s mom onstage for a mini interview and Monica’s boo Rocko even came out.  During Derek’s interview he seemed a bit uncomfortable. He’s so accustomed to being behind the camera that I’m sure it was a bit unnerving, but Mo quickly helped ease his nerves. That’s why I love them both so much!  Support is key!

The show concluded with Monica performing “Still Standing.” It was such a great show! I just wish I had been in the audience that day. And speaking of “Still Standing,”  if you missed Episode 2 of Monica’s BET reality show, you can watch it below: (more…)

Romelo blows out his candles! He’s such a cutie!!

Lil Rock is 4? Where’d all that time go? Adorable!!

The party was billed as a birthday celebration for both Lil Rocko and Romelo but Monica let me in on a lil secret. It wasn’t actually either of the boy’s birthdays but Lil Rock wanted a day they both could share, so being the great Mom that she is…Mo gave her babies what they wanted. Jennifer Hudson has introduced her new edition to the world. Meet J-Hud’s bundle of joy, David Otunga, Jr, who’ll celebrate his 2 month birthdate in a few days.  Jennifer revealed the photo to People magazine as she spoke about the joys of motherhood:

How hard was it keeping your pregnancy under wraps?
“David and I were the only people who knew for a long time. I would forget I was pregnant, it was so easy. I didn’t have any morning sickness, no cravings either. I just thought, ‘Oh, well, we’ll wait until it’ll tell on itself.’ I didn’t show until I was seven months so that made it easy right there.”

Your son was delivered via C-section, what was your recovery like?
“Everybody told me how much it was going to hurt afterwards but I think I have a different tolerance for pain than others. By that night after I had the baby, I’m like, ‘Look, I can’t sit in this bed anymore. I’ve got to get up!’ I’ve been up and about since he was born. To me, the pain is no different than when you work out a muscle you’ve never worked out before and it’s sore.”

Has his personality emerged yet?
“He has a lot of personality, like David. He’s always been a good sleeper. His favorite time to smile now is diaper changes. Or when he spits up on you – he just cracks up like he thinks it’s the funniest thing. And his bottle is his pacifier. With a pacifier, it’s like he knows, ‘Ain’t nothing come out of here. No, I don’t want that. Where’s the real deal?’ His best friend is that bottle; that’s all he wants.”

Would you be supportive if he wants to pursue a career in entertainment?
“We’ll definitely encourage education. His father is an education fanatic so we definitely want him to get an education and go to school. My mom always said, ‘Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you as long as you’re happy.’ So I will do the same.”

“Gimme the LOOT!…Gimme the LOOT!”

Super celebrity photographer Derek Blanks never ceases to amaze me! During this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Derek took on the challenge of creating his signature Alter Ego scenarios for the cast members of Bravo’s most popular show. The photos were shot earlier this year but kept under wraps until the airing of last night’s show. Each housewife portrayed images thought up by fellow castmate NeNe Leakes. They’re all simply hilarious! Sheree’ Whitfield (above), widely recognized for her “7 figure settlement” statement during the first season of the show is photographed robbing herself at an ATM, while Lisa Wu-Hartwell (below) is shot portraying good vs. evil by stealing cookies from herself.

The crowd favorite, NeNe Leakes, poked fun at her former stripper self by portraying a stripper vs. a goodie two shoes in Magic City: (more…)

Ciara dropped some promo pics via her Twitter a few days ago and the net was ablaze with chatter of her new doo.  The photos are lovely (as usual) and were taken by celebrity photographer Derek Blanks. In these new flix, CiCi decided to take her look into a totally different direction with a new short, sleek, darker style. I like it but I’m almost positive this change isn’t permanent.  Word is….it’s a wig. So don’t fret, CiCi will be rocking her long lacefront again shortly.

Ciara also dropped a short little dance video for her fans where she shows you all how to  ‘JERK’ to her new single ‘Work” featuring Missy Elliott. The video also features dancers from her new company UDT (Universal Dance & Talent). Check it out below:
