Jermaine Dupri and Shawntae Harris aka Da Brat have been hit with a lawsuit over an assault that occurred in Studio 72 several years ago. Shayla Stevens, a former Atlanta Falcons and model, has filed a civil lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court, claiming Da Brat struck her in the face with a bottle, causing serious injuries. The lawsuit claims Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, has a criminal record and violent past record of assaulting other women.

In case you’ve been wondering what Da Brat’s been up to while she’s serving that 3 year sentence for aggravated assault, well word on the street is that Brat, aka Shawntae Harris, is organizing a talent show for her fellow prison inmates. Harris, currently serving time at Lee Arrendale State Prison after being sentenced for assaulting a waitress in Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72, has been reportedly keeping her fellow cellmates entertained with her skills (perhaps by performing “WhatChu Like” on a daily basis). Now she wants the other inmates to join in on all the fun by holding a talent show based on New York’s famous Showtime at the Apollo TV concert series. Da Brat has even asked her pal DJ Nabs to mix up some music for them to use during the show, and she’s hoping that prison officials will allow her to turn it into an annual event. (Source)

Shawntae Harris aka DaBrat aka Prisoner #0001287419 celebrated her 35th birthday yesterday (April 14th) while incarcerated in Georgia’s Arrendale State Prison. Harris is currently serving a 3 year sentence for the aggravated assault of a waitress at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72. At least she looks content in her newest mugshot. Harris is scheduled for release August 2011.
I don’t know how old this video is, but Katt Williams states in it that it’s his final interview. He drops a few hints that he’s retiring from comedy and takes jabs at Jermaine Dupri for not visiting Da Brat in jail. Katt says he stands by Da Brat and if she gets hurt or killed in jail it’s all JD’s fault. *scratching head* I don’t get it…
