Word on the curb is that Demetria McKinney, the up & coming pop star/friend of the show on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, may have ‘borrowed’ the track for her ‘Keep it 100′ single (ft. Da Brat) from an up & coming gospel artist.
Demetria performed her song during the RHOA girl’s trip in Puerto Rico (click HERE if you missed that). Well, that nationwide tv exposure may have exposed her single to a bit of scrutiny.
I received the following ‘Hot #RHOA Tea’ via email a few days ago…

Atlanta radio station V-103 and Jagged Edge partnered together to present the “I Hope for U Initiative” to benefit the Hosea Feed the Hungry foundation.
The group held a benefit concert last Thursday evening (August 14, 2014) at Vanquish Lounge where there were featured performances from new Atlanta ‘housewife’ Demetria McKinney, DaBrat and of course Jagged Edge.
Others in attendance included: Reggie Rouse (V103 Program Director), Jermaine Dupri, radio personality Big Tigger, Pastor Troy, Dj Nabbs, Michael Mauldin (industry veteran), Jennifer Drake (Universal Records), Cannon Kent (Atlantic Records), and many more.
Proceeds from the benefit concert, hosted by the HFTH Young Professionals Advisory Board, will provide the funding necessary for the Hosea Feed The Hungry organization to restock their shelves for the upcoming holiday season.
Jagged Edge rocked overalls in honor of Hosea Williams’ signature style.

It’s only been about three years since Da Brat
(aka Shawntae Harris) was released from prison after serving 21 months for a nightclub assault and it’s been less than a week since the Atlanta-based rapper was ordered to pay Shayla Stevens, the victim in the incident, $6.4 Million dollars in a civil suit.

According to court documents, Da Brat’s role in the bottle-wielding incident caused permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain to Stevens, a waitress & former NFL cheerleader.
Brat recently made a video addressing the judgment and she seems to be taking her multi-million dollar debt in stride, stating:
Like I said in court, I definitely shouldn’t have done what I did and the girl deserved some compensation, but $6.4m? Hell no. I don’t know where anybody gonna get that from. You can’t squeeze water from a turnip.”
It is what it is. When I start getting it, they’ll get some. They gotta wait in line like everyone else…

Jermaine Dupri is gearing up for his SoSo Def 20th Anniversary concert and kicked things off with a private dinner with many of the artists that made his label great (February 21, 2013).
I’ve heard that tickets to the upcoming concert aren’t selling as fast as they would like, but the gang is still optimistic about the weekend’s festivities.
Artists such as Bow Wow and Chris Kelly of Kris Kross (who happened to have just met for the first time last night), Da Brat, Jagged Edge, LaTocha and Tamika Scott (Xscape), Dondria, Bonecrusher, Youngbloodz, Dem Franchize Boyz all broke bread in anticipation of the upcoming festivities.
Veteran music exec Michael Mauldin (JD’s father) as well as his Mom and daughter Shaniah also attended to show support.

“Gangsta” rapper Nicki Minaj totally came for DaBrat on the social networking site twitter after she read the following statement allegedly sent from DaBrat’s account:
If you haven’t heard by now, Minaj recently cussed out Mariah Carey on the set of American Idol (click HERE if you missed that).
Apparently seeing that response from DaBrat (a close friend of Carey’s) sent her into a tizzy!
Nicki decided to strike back online, hitting twitter with a response referring to Brat as “Sir” and even threw in a lil shade about DaBrat’s finances as an added bonus.
Sad thing is… Da Brat had absolutely nothing to do with the statement Nicki read, and she ended up looking like a prime candidate for Anger Management!
