Usher graces the August/September cover of Uptown Magazine’s 5th Anniversary “Style” issue looking marvelous as usual. Check out a few flix from the feature:
It was also recently announced that the owners of Uptown Magazine have purchased the now defunct VIBE Magazine. So keep an eye out for the new & improved VIBE coming soon. Usher’s upcoming “Monster” project is complete and expected to drop late this fall. I got a track called “Be” in my inbox a while ago and thought this would be the perfect post to share it with you. Take a listen:
Ok…is it me or is Usher showing ‘fever’ in his cover shot for Vegas Magazine? The necklace, the v-neck…that look. *sigh* The July/August issue hits stands next week and Ush is the first male on the cover of mag in its entire six years in production (I guess that explains the pearls 😕 ). In the issue, Usher talks about his new fragrance Usher VIP (his third fragrance with Elizabeth Arden), recording sessions in Vegas, and his upcoming album and more. He even discusses how he plans on being back real lovemaking music for the masses:
“The sex in music, the good sex in music, the lovemaking in music, we’ve begun to depart from it. Right now it’s all about hitting it and quitting it. I think there are a ton of women out there who want to be made love to and want to have that song going that they really want to make love to.”
“In time I’m going to grow older, but I hope that I can be remembered for being a great father to my sons, a gentleman, a renaissance man.”
Check out the official cover of Whitney Houston’s highly anticipated comeback CD, “I Look To You”. She’s highly glamed up and ready to go. The album is scheduled to hit shelves Sept. 1 and Whitney held a listening session in London on Tuesday to preview nine of the songs on the album. Songs previewed included the following: Continue Reading…
Ciara and Rick Ross share a dual cover the Summer 09 issue of Rap Up Magazine. Speaking of Ciara, MTV caught up with her, Singer Tyrese, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day and a few others after the L.A. premiere of ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ last night to gather their reaction on the Chris Brown’s plea deal:
“I support both artists,” said Ciara, who has toured and recorded with both Brown and Rihanna. “It’s a very personal process.”
Ciara was spotted leaving Hotel de Sers in Paris yesterday, where she’s currently doing a few international appearances to promote her “Love Sex Magic” single. CiCi’s upcoming Fantasy Ride is scheduled to drop May 5th and that date is fast approaching! Check out another newly leaked track called “G is for Girl” below:
T.I. covers the April 2009 issue of Vibe Magazine. This cover is a different look for Tip and perhaps it’s Vibe’s shrewd way of showing on the outside how much he’s changed on the inside. Just as the magazine revealed Tupac Shakur’s sensitive side, they are delving deep into the mind of ATL’s own King of hip-hop. The article promises to be a must read as they address the theory that T.I. snitched in order to get his plea deal. I’ve also heard that the photospread inside will be just as interesting as that cover shot.
After the announcement on March 27, 2008 of what many felt was a shockingly light slap on the wrist for the serious charges, many responded by screaming, “Snitch!” However, authorities agreed to a groundbreaking plea deal negotiated by heavyweight Criminal Defense Attorney, Steve Sadow, who cited the star’s ability to influence others by serving 1500 hours of community service.
T.I. bites back at rumors about how he scored this largely unprecedented deal by saying, “Ain’t no such thing as a secret snitch…Pull up my agreement. It’s public record.”
In the thought-provoking feature, Meadows-Ingram meets with the rapper/actor in Washington, D.C., on the eve of President Barack Obama’s inauguration, where T.I. accepted an award from the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network for his work with the “Respect My Vote” campaign. VIBE follows the rapper during some of his court-mandated speaking engagements and the filming of his MTV show, T.I’s Road to Redemption, where the newly minted role model motivates and inspires at-risk youths. VIBE’s feature story showcases remarkable photos of T.I. reenacting poses made famous by legendary cultural icons Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. (Source)
This issue should hit newstands March 17th. Also, peep Trap-A-Holics and T.I.’s mixtape ~ “Gone Til November (Road to Redemption)” below: Continue Reading…
