You’ve probably realized by now that Ciara’s “Mama I Want to Sing” didn’t hit theatres Spring 2008 as planned. The film, based on the hit off-Broadway stage play by Vy Higginsen, was loosely based on the career of Higginsen’s late sister, R&B vocalist Doris Troy, whose big hit was 1963’s ‘Just One Look.’ The musical ran for eight years at Harlem’s Heckscher Theater, making it the longest-running off-Broadway black theater musical in history.
Ciara was chosen to play the vocalist in the film alongside Lynn Whitfield as her mother. Now after several delays and reshoots, the film will finaly make its world premiere as the closing night selection at the 13th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival in New York on september 26th.
Ciara has been getting her shop on dayum near everyday since moving out west to L.A. The diva has been photographed all over Beverly Hills dropping mad cash while carrying around her lil mini-me Tyson:

CiCi’s also been breaking traffic laws in LA-LA land and recently admitted her crime via Twitter:

I dunno what’s going on with Ciara lately. She seems a bit different. Even in the photos she’s not her normally bubbly self. Maybe she’s still distraught about being dropped from the Britney Spears tour… More photos below:
Ciara was spotted out in L.A. recently rocking a fresh new weave. I guess she got the memo that her old hair stylist wanted her wig back. I wonder if she shipped it back first class or express mail? Whatever the case, CiCi’s short hair phase appears to be over. Now everything is right with the world… womp womp!
