I’ve got a ton of pics from the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards show but this is by far my favorite of them all! Comedian Chris Rock took a moment to grab a handful of “Precious” actress Gabourey Sidibe onstage at the show. It was all in fun and the two shared a few classic memorable photos:
The movie “Precious” won 6 image awards including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Outstanding Motion Picture.

Chris Rock is never one to hold his tongue. We all know that 1st hand after hearing him say that Oprah resembled a slave during his recent appearance on her show to promote his Good Hair movie. Now Rock is speaking up on behalf of Golf legend Tiger Woods and is holding no punches.
The media has been unapologetic about searching for answers in Tiger’s bizarre accident as speculation grew about Woods rumored love triangle between his wife Elin and a woman named Rachel Uchitel. Most (even I) jumped to the conclusion that Elin wielded a nine-iron after confronting Tiger about the affair but recent reports suggest that it may not have been a domestic situation at all and Woods (who was incoherent at the scene) may have been under the influence of prescription drugs.
Monday night on the red carpet at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York a group of reporters asked Rock his take on Tiger Woods’ single-SUV crash expecting him to co-sign with the media spectacle of the case. However, Rock fought back for Tiger in classic Chris Rock fashion:
“I don’t have advice for anybody,” he declared. “Nope. He got in a car accident. What the f*ck!? You guys are the news. You’re supposed to report the news. A guy crashed his car. You’re making up sh*t. So are you reporting the news or are you making the news?”
Great question Chris. I vote for the latter. Check out the full video below: Continue Reading…
Chris Rock has just been hit with a $5 Million dollar lawsuit over his upcoming Good Hair documentary. According to TMZ, Regina Kimbell is accusing Rock of stealing his idea from her 2005 documentary, “My Nappy Roots” and says that she showed him her film back in 2007 on the set of his TV series, “Everybody Hates Chris”. She has since filed suit in U.S. District Court in downtown L.A., and seeks no less than $5 million dollars!
Kimbell’s documentary features celebs who discuss styles like the conk, the Afro, the Jheri curl and dreadlocks while Rock’s film also uses celebs to look at the efforts black women use to get that European look. Check out a snippet from Kimbell’s “My Nappy Hair” below and judge for yourself: Continue Reading…
In case you missed it, here are a few clips from Oprah’s “Good Hair” show yesterday. The show delved into the processes Black women go through and Oprah invited Chris Rock to share scenes from his new documentary “Good Hair.” Beyonce’s baby sis also appeared, sharing her story of why she decided to rock a low cut. In a surprise revelation, So told Oprah that she used to spend upwards of $50,000 on her hair before chopping it all off.
