Friday night was such a random “A”zz night for me. After attending Keri Hilson’s Album Release party the night before, I had already decided that I was staying home but one of my Twitter friends (MissOdemi) hit me up with an invite to see Bobby Ray at the loft. Of course I couldn’t resist, so I headed on over.

While I was chillin in the back with my friend Rovella (of the AlmostFamous Show) almost board but not really, I glanced over and noticed Tiny chillin in the cut. My heart skipped a beat cause I knew that Tip wasn’t too far behind. A few seconds later, “The King” came struttin in the room and I knew it was about to be on!  Next came my boo Killer Mike and then Big Kuntry. I wanted to pinch myself cause I felt like I was in Grand Hustle heaven. B.o.B…..I mean Bobby Ray hadn’t even hit the stage yet, but here was Killer Mike, Big Kuntry and T.I. all in the back waiting for his arrival.

Mind you, no one (including me) suspected that Tip would actually hit the stage! But when he did….whoooo-weeee! The video doesn’t do it justice. All I can tell you is if you missed it…you missed out! Not only did Tip perform, but so did Killer Mike and Big Kuntry….and my sorry “A”zz couldn’t get footage cause I was stuck BEHIND the stage!!

B.o.B. explains to MTV news about his trials and tribulations in the music industry. He states that he didn’t quit but he had to learn how to accept the politics of the music industry.

Maybe he read my letter…maybe not, but the truth of the matter is he’s back and we’re VERY happy about it!

Gyant over at SOHH posted a not so blind item a while ago, speculating that one of the hottest new artists to come out of the “A” in a while ~ B.o.B. aka Bobby Ray ~ is quitting rap:

Which new Atlanta MC, that’s been getting a STRONG internet buzz, is rumored to have quit the music industry?

This rapper, who has been compared to a hip-hop legend, has been on the cover of one of hip-hop’s most popular magazines. And just last week, had met up with a certain Detroit rapper to cut some records.

Turns out the speculation is true…well almost. B. Rich later confirmed that B.o.B. is going through some personal issues and has decided to step away from the microphone for a while. I don’t know how long he’ll be away, but my hope is that he will return soon because his musical style and talents are much needed in today’s music game.

B.o.B….if you’re listening…my prayers are with you. Stay strong and know that whatever the issue is, it’s only temporary. Learn from it and move forward. Take as long as you need to get through it but COME BACK! Your talents speak to so many people…Please don’t go!

Check out the new video for B.o.B.’s “Generation Lost” directed by James Lopez.  I love this song! and although there’s not a lot going on in the video it really doesn’t matter….the song speaks for itself. Bobby Ray is proving that he’s a mainstay in this music game.

Atlantic Records held a private listening party for T.I.’s hot artist, B.o.B., Friday evening. B.o.B., short for Bobby Ray is a Decatur bred musical phenomenon who’s been featured on several Grand Hustle songs. He’s got a hot song in rotation (I’ll be in the Sky), which is almost unheard of for a new artist without an album…AND he’s got a grand endorsement from The King himself:

I know that a lot of times it take an artist this talented, this diversified a little longer to break on an underbelly level cause it’s very very hard to get him to come back down to earth with us sometimes but I’m letting you know that nothing could be more worth your time than this artist right here…right now. This is the future of what I consider respectable in hip hop. It ain’t nothing this dude can’t do. If he don’t rap, it ain’t cause he can’t it’s cause he don’t feel like it. If he ain’t on no hood sh*t, it cause that ain’t how he feel.

So, rather than force him to do something he don’t wanna do, I’d just rather sit back and admire all the things he does do. He does the sh*t well, so it brings me great honor and enormous pleasure to introduce B.o.B. to the rest of the world and I hope y’all stand behind him as much as I do. And with that said I must bid you farewell. Keep it pimpin…
