Check out this cute photo of Andre 3000 I just received in my inbox. Dre looked happy and pleased at the closing of the first Class of 3000 LIVE performance at the Alliance Theatre Friday night. I’ve heard that Big Boi, Janelle Monae and several other ATL celebs were also there to lend support opening night. I still haven’t managed to check it out but a ton of great things have been said about the play. The one disappointment for most is that they were hoping Dre would be taking on the role of Sunny Bridges, but it’s being portrayed by up and coming actor Sinatra Onyewuchi.
Check out a few more flix from opening night below:
Check out one of my many ‘A’ town favs, “85” from Youngbloodz which features my boo Twan…I mean Big Boi and Jim Crow. [SIDEBAR: For those of you who just hit Hartsfield/Jackson International, Jim Crow consisted of Polow Da Don, Cutty Cartel and Mr. Mo.] Some people’s standard introduction to the “A” is I285 where they get caught up driving in a never ending loop…but I’m sure I85 is a close second, leading you from the far north straight to the ‘dirty’ south.
Happy Flashback Friday! Y’all ready for that weekly Atlanta history lesson? It’s coming…hold on!
I caught up with Antwan ‘Big Boi’ Patton the other night and told him about my Old School Atlanta Memory (O.S.A.M.) project and my desire to capture them all on film. Of course Twan was down for the cause and we stepped outside the club for a mini trip down memory lane.? I was expecting tales of Freaknic (as almost everyone has a Freaknic tale to tell) but what I GOT was an old school hustler tale of chillin on Simpson Road’s Charles Disco. Continue Reading…
Last night I attented a VIP preview event at the View. The event was jam packed with ATL’s musical elite as they all came out to celebrate the upcoming February 17th launch of “Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned” with Rockstar Games, Xbox 360 and the Konsole Kingz .? Antwan “Big Boi” Patton (or Twan as I affectionately call him), Slim of 112, Mr. Collipark, DJ Cannon, DJ Drama & No ID each sat down for an up close and personal preview of the new game and some even took home limited-edition Xbox 360 “The Lost and Damned” consoles.
Check out a few more pics from the event below as well as a GTA IV Preview:
