A little scandal goes a long way in the world of reality television and Vh1’s Basketball Wives is no exception.
Shaunie O’neal reassembles the cast for a 4th season. Evelyn Lozada, Royce Reed, Jennifer Williams, Tami Roman, Ronnie, Bobby Ricky & Mike and a few new additions all gather together in the name of promotion for the show.
The tomfoolery that is VH1’s Basketball Wives seems to be disbanding one by one.
Meeka Claxton, who was spotted rocking Shaunte’s booty shorts at Ludacris’ annual Clark-Atlanta University Block Party last weekend during LudaDay weekend in Atlanta, has reportedly been unceremoniously dumped by the popular reality show.
Rumor has it that Claxton hasn’t heard a peep from the shows producers since the reunion special and it’s all due to that lawsuit Meeka filed against Tami Roman (arguably the show’s strongest and most likeable cast member).
Roman threatened to leave the show if they kept Meeka… and well it appears Shaunie & VH1 made the smart choice to give Meeka her walking papers, along with a pair of Shaunie’s used cut offs as a special parting gift.
Tami Roman from VH1’s Basketball Wives covers the current issue of Atlanta-based Rolling Out Magazine.
Although I’m a bit slow on my Basketball Wives pimpin (I’m still on episode #3 hoping to catch up soon), I’m a Tami Roman stan from way back during her “Real World’ days and when I met her briefly during the 2011 Essence Music Festival, I liked her immediately.
Roman has an awesome photo spread in the mag and she also reveals quite a bit during her interview.
On joining “Basketball Wives”:
Well, I watched the first season of “Basketball Wives” and just felt like the things that I was going through weren’t really represented on the show.
I had been a basketball wife, and now that I was divorced, things weren’t as golden as they portrayed on the show. I wasn’t eating out and getting manicures every day … and I wasn’t drinking all night, every night. That wasn’t my world, so for me, I felt like my individual story would be valuable.
Celebs have jumped on the “Planking” bandwagon and have begun sending pics across their social networks, including comedian Lil Duval, Dwight Howard, Gilbert Arenas, Slim Thug, Bun B, Joe Budden and more.
I personally think it’s an idiotic act, but I still can’t help but laugh at the pics… 😆
I stopped blogging about VH1’S Basketball Wives a while ago because honestly…. they all bore me.
People ask me about this new season all the time and I coudn’t tell you what’s been going on if you paid me!
That being said… Evelyn Lozada has apparently given VH1 and ultimatum — as if she makes the show more interesting. Lozada is asking the network to either give her a raise of over $12,000 an episode or she’s walking out the door.
According to TMZ, Lozada and the other “wives” currently pull in around $7,500 an episode, but Lozada feels she deserves $20,000 for her appearance each show.
No word yet on the show’s next move.
Question to those of you who watch “Basketball Wives”… is Evelyn really that crucial to the show?
