The question was asked a few weeks ago, Is Lil Wayne’s Ex (Toya Carter) a Backstabber? after I received information from my blogging buddy Mrs. Grapevine that revealed to the world Joy Bound’s story about how she was robbed of her reality show idea, which originally included She, Tiny, Kandi Burress, & Antonia “Toya” Carter.? The story apparently came from a close friend of Joy’s and really didn’t seem too far fetched at all, being that we all know these ladies were close at some point. Well, now Joy herself has come forward and issued an official statement on the matter:
I am happy to leave this matter up to the legal process and God. However, with the recent blogs and the emails I?ve received, I realize it?s important that I say something. I don?t want young ladies to think its cool to be disloyal or strive to become a ?baby mama?. First, I?d never advise anyone to have a child out of wedlock I don?t care who the daddy is.
Second; hardwork, honesty, loyalty and respect are the keys to success. They will take you further than the opposite.
Yes I created a reality show and yes I reached out to Tameka ?Tiny? Cottle and Christine White to do the show. At that point, Toya Carter was already my friend so naturally I approached her first. The show I created was not a frivolous ?baby mama? show, rather a chance to redefine that image through a reality show on our lives then spin off to a late night talk show. I?m disappointed to see my vision turned into the stereotype. MORE

It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for.
Not failure, but low aim is the sin. – Dr. Benjamin E. Mays
When I was a li?l gul, 3450 Sewell Road was just a big old hill with a bunch of trees next to I-285 expressway that we passed if we took the long way to Southwest Hospital. A couple of years and a street name change later, it became Mays High School.
I went to its feeder middle school, but I didn?t go to Mays because I was lazy. While they cleared a number of the trees, the school was built at the tip top of that dang-on hill. My momma didn?t have reliable transportation, so if I had to (or chose to) stay afterschool, I had to hike ?The Hill? to get home. Do that in 90 degree August and May Atlanta heat, get on a MARTA bus and then do some homework:
But I digress…
Back in my day, Mays was virtually an all African-American institution at the pinnacle of urban public education. It was located in one of the more affluent neighborhoods in the city and the Math and Science Academy magnet program was literally churning out rocket scientists. Continue Reading…
This wasn’t no regular ole concert. Nope. Not at all. ATLien’s united in the rain and mud to celebrate the reunion of one our most heartfelt groups. Khujo, T-Mo, Big Gipp & Cee-Lo. Collectively known as The Goodie Mob.? The venue was outside and the weather was rainy but I, personally, was in heaven from the moment the show started.? DJ Jelly was on the ones and twos providing Atlanta classic jams during each intermission while DJ Kizzy Rock, Pastor Troy & The Youngbloodz all performed as we celebrated our A-town musical history. These weren’t just no regular ole opening acts either. Each one has a history about as colorful as the Goodie Mob and each shared in the historical value of the event.
