Shawty Lo dropped his “Fright Night” mixtape on halloween and I still haven’t listened to it, but I got a new video in my inbox last night. Deejays, Drama, Scream, & Whoo Kid compiled 16 new tracks from Mr. Dunn Dunn It All, which features appearances from Gucci Mane, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, The Dream, Mya, Bun B, Rick Ross, and more. Grab the tracklisting and download link by clicking here.
The new video is for a song, entitled “Birds,” which is not about peacocks and canaries but you probably already know that. Lo has stuck with the standard “Bankhead” [aka Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway] theme of rappin bout that “white girl” and as I always say, if it aint broke… *sigh*
At the end of the video Lo sends a heartfelt goodbye to his old home of Bowen Homes Projects, which should be demolished any day now. View the video below (STRONG LANGUAGE): Continue Reading…
City of Atlanta Mayoral candidate Mary Norwood said she will officially seek a recount after losing the race to former Senator Kasim Reed by less than a 1% margin. According to the AJC, Mark Henderson with the Fulton County Elections Office confirmed that all but about 700 provisional ballots had been counted. The ballots can’t be tabulated until Thursday, which is the deadline for those voters to provide verification they were eligible.
According to the official tally, Reed led by 750 votes, so even if all of the provisional ballots go to Norwood, it still may not change the outcome but Mary’s not going down without a fight:
“I think a recount, when you’re this close is appropriate, absolutely appropriate,” Norwood said at a Wednesday morning press conference at her headquarters.
“We came within a razor thin margin of not being able to say we’re the front runner today.”
Under state law, a candidate who loses by less than 1 percent of the votes cast has the right to request a recount. Reed, however, has already claimed victory in the race and is going about the business of setting up plans for his first term as mayor.
Kasim Reed is on the verge of being the 59th mayor of the City of Atlanta. In all actuality, Reed won the most votes in the run-off election against candidate Mary Norwood in an agonizing close race but Norwood hasn’t conceded. As Atlanta anxiously awaits an official announcement, the margin ranges a mere 1 point in the victory. Continue Reading…

A few unlit Molotov cocktails were found in Northeast Atlanta yesterday near T.I.’s Grand Hustle studios. According to news reports, two bottles filled with an unknown liquid suspected of being Molotov cocktails was tossed at the office windows of the studio early Thursday morning.
The Atlanta police SWAT team was sent to the address after an Atlanta Police officer was flagged down by a resident and advised the officer that he observed two bottles of what appeared to be molotov cocktails full of an unknown liquid near the front porch, said Eric Schwartz, Atlanta police spokesman.
Jason Geter, CEO of Grand Hustle, explained that an alarm went off between 2:30 and 3 a.m. Thursday (November 19) at the office and Grand Hustle staff discovered that one of the office windows had been cracked after someone had tossed a “40-ounce bottle” at it.
Police have not named any suspects, but Geter and company have their own ideas of who the culprit could be. Check out the audio of Jason’s details of the event below: Continue Reading…
