Frederick Richardson, the man accused of killing Ashley “A.J. Jewell during a brawl in the parking lot of the Body Tap strip club, has been freed on bond. Richardson appeared in front of a judge today (Tuesday, Oct. 20), and left the Fulton County Jail after Magistrate Judge Karen Woodson set bond at $10,000. Richardson will not return to court until he’s indicted.
Jewell died at a local hospital on October 5th, just moments after the fight. Richardson was arrested and held without bond in the case a day later. Specifics of Richardson’s are not being revealed, however one can only assume that the Fulton County coroner’s report which stated that Sickle Cell disease may have caused AJ’s death, was a contributing factor in the judges decision.

Gucci Mane is hot like FIRE these days and on dayum near everybody’s song…even my Big Boi’s “Shine Blockers”! Now a new track has dropped from his upcoming “State vs. Radric Davis” LP, which is scheduled for release in December. This new track is produced by none other than Polow Da Don and features the divorce PAPERS king, Usher Raymond, who sings, “The spotlight ain’t nothing without you girl, and the dance floor ain’t nothing without you, girl/ You a show-stopper/ Let’s get it poppin'” over the hot track.
The new song is entitled “Spotlight” and it’s so hot that the video has already been recorded! According to MTV:
Gucci and Usher shot a video for the song over the weekend in Atlanta. The clip was directed by Benny Boom and according to Gucci’s camp, it’s heavy on performance and club scenes. Young Money princess Nicki Minaj makes a cameo in the clip, and Gucci’s leading lady comes straight from the bloodline of one of the most successful actors in Hollywood history: Bria Murphy, daughter of Eddie, is the woman who makes Gucci goes crazy in this one.
That should be interesting….

A coroner’s report has revealed sickle cell anemia may have played a role in the death of Ashley “AJ” Jewell, who died during a brawl in front of the Body Tap strip club. According to Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner, Dr. Kelly Rose, preliminary autopsy results lead her to believe Jewell suffered from Sickle Cell, a disease which inhibits oxygen flow to tissues in the body.
Rose says it’s most likely that Jewell was so worked up from the fight, that it’s probable that the disease prevented his body from replenishing the oxygen he lost during the incident. Although the report is plausible, AJ’s parent’s are crying FOUL and feel that it was still murder. Check out their statement below: Continue Reading…

Kim Zolciak of the Real Housewives of Atlanta won her first award ever last week during the 2009 Fox Really Awards. Kim received the “Fashionista” award for her choice of clothing that is 4 sizes too small hot stylish couture worn regularly on the hit reality series. Kim graciously accepted the award, which was given during red carpet arrivals and promptly reminded everyone that she and Big Poppa are officially over by flaunting her “engagement” ring worn on the wrong hand:
I honestly think Kim is just saving face after finally being dumped by that married man. Especially since he’s packing up his wife and kids and selling his palatial Georgia mansion: Continue Reading…
You may remember Kim Kearney as the loud mouthed contestant who considered herself a hybrid of Puffy & Oprah (PoPrah) on the first season of VH1’s “I Want To Work For Diddy.” Not long after her elimination from the show, I revealed a video montage of Poprah’s thin moments
on the site.
In addition to Kim hosting a short-lived talk show, she was also an aspiring recording artist in the 90’s who performed under the moniker “Tempest.” Fortunately for us…that moment was captured in time with the emergence of music videos. I dunno if “Tempest” ever made it to MTV but her videos were definitely worthy of a shot.
Check out two vintage music videos from Kim/Poprah/Tempest below as well as a brief update on what she’s doing now: Continue Reading…

Morehouse college has revealed a new policy on campus which they say is designed to uphold “the image of a strong black man.” The new policy is creating a bit of backlash because people are saying that it is alienating gay students at the all-male historically Black college. The new policy details 11 expectations of students, including:
* no caps, do-rags and/or hoods in classrooms, the cafeteria, or other indoor venues
* no sun glasses worn in class or at formal programs
* no jeans at major programs, as well as no sagging pants on campus
* no clothing with derogatory or lewd messages either in words or pictures
* no wearing of clothing usually worn by women (dresses, tops, tunics, purses, pumps, etc.) on the Morehouse campus or at college-sponsored events.
It’s the restriction on women’s clothing that causing an uproar at the school. In a city where men in pumps carrying purses is somewhat commonplace and revered on “reality” television, Morehouse is taking a stand and seems to be attempting to give our historic city some dignity. Now…before all my gay friends pull knives Continue Reading…
