The morbid AIDs campaign spear headed by Alicia Keys known as “Digital Death” has finally come to an end.
A mystery man donated half a milli to save face and bought back the lives of all the celebs before they further embarrassed themselves.
The mystery man who donated half-a-million bucks to an AIDS charity and brought Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga and a ton of other celebs back to life (on Twitter) — has been revealed … as a BILLIONAIRE.
TMZ has learned … pharmaceutical mogul Stewart Rahr donated roughly $500,000 earlier today to the Digital Death campaign … which benefits the Keep a Child Alive organization.
Rahr’s donation freed up scores of celebs who pledged to go silent on their social media sites until the group raised $1 million.
Several stars, including Keys, her hubby Swizz Beatz, Usher Raymond, Diddy and more logged off on Tuesday, Nov. 30, vowing not to sign back on until $1 million had been raised for the ‘Keep A Child Alive’ cause.
Keys and the other celebs were all hoping to be resurrected within 24 hours. But it’s a recession and apparently fans figured their money was useful elsewhere.
Due to the lack of response, Alicia broke her vow within 18 hours of the launch to beg her followers to donate and her hubby Swizz Beatz followed her lead, even getting salty when fans called him out about it.
Usher & Diddy didn’t even seem to try… with both tweeting up a storm all weekend long. It’s all over now and we can all look forward to more celebrity faux pas on twitter.
