This week Bishop Jones and his girlfriend, Loretta Jones, are the main topic of conversation amongst the preachers and everyone on the show seems eager to see them get married… everyone except Jones himself.
While the two have been ‘friends’ for 16 years, Jones hasn’t made any moves toward the altar and everyone around him is giving him the side-eye.
Jones blames his travel schedule on his decision not to tie the knot, plus he has a lot of unresolved personal issues (i.e. his daughter by x-factor’s Stacey Francis)
Actress Kerry Washington of Scandal revealed her baby bump on the recent episode of Saturday Night Live and she also helped the show address SNL vet Kenan Thompson‘s controversial comments regarding the show’s lack of diversity.
In case you haven’t heard, Thompson (who happens to be an Atlanta native) recently caught a ton of flack after he made a statement that that Black women who audition for roles on the show simply haven’t been “ready” for prime time.
“It’s just a tough part of the business,” he told TV Guide. “Like in auditions, they just never find ones that are ready.”
While Thompson’s comments may have rang true, the show took advantage of Washington’s appearance on the show to reveal it’s response to the drama.
In one single skit, Washington portrays Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. When she’s asked to exit the Oval Office a third time to return as Beyonce, a voice over and text reveals SNL’s apologetic response.
The question of what happened to Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos nearly a decade ago has never been answered but filmmaker/media mogul Tyler Perry has opened is pockets and is offering up to $100,000 for some answers!

For years, there have been whispers in Naples, Fla., about the men and the last person they were seen with, a police officer who said he dropped off the two men at separate convenience stores and Perry made the announcement during a press conference at the South Regional Library, 8065 Lely Cultural Parkway, Naples, Fla. Looks like Kandi has yet another new doo! She went to a shorter sleeker bob a few weeks ago and now it appears she’s lightened it up quite a bit. I like!
Kandi’s prepping for the premiere of her brand new reality show “The Kandi Factory,” which hits airwaves next week.
As I revealed back in September, the new show will be kind of a talent contest, where Burruss will turn 2 people into “pop stars”.
Burruss will give two protégés the opportunity to come to Atlanta and learn the fundamentals of pop music success. She has identified three factors that have to fit perfectly together to create a pop sensation: the song, the look and the performance.
Burruss and her team of experts at The Kandi Factory will work with the two contestants in order to turn them into music superstars.
Actor Samuel L. Jackson celebrated his 63rd (yes SIXTY THIRD!) birthday recently with a party held in NYC.
Jackson is currently performing in ‘The Mountaintop’ alongside Angela Bassett and after a matinee performance of the play he got the mandatory “Happy Birthday” group song from the cast and crew…. and his close friend Reverend Al Sharpton.
Jackson (a graduate of Morehouse College) is an honorary ATLien and he’s been the lone voice responsible for getting Falcons fans on their feet each home game by yelling RISE UP!… now Jackson is joined in the spot by a few more recognizable ATL favorites…
Troy Davis, 42, spent 22 years on death row for the shooting death of Savannah police Officer Mark PacPhail in 1989 but he was freed on September 22, 2011 when the State of Georgia carried out the death penalty.
Davis was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. last night, but his execution did not put to rest widespread doubts about whether he committed the crime for which he was punished.
Davis’ case was one of the most bitterly contested and controversial in Georgia history, as he has always maintained his innocence even to the final seconds of his death.
While Casey Anthony is somewhere sippin on a slurpie free as a bird, while the daughter she was accused of murdering lies in a grave, Troy Davis was murdered by our “justice system” even though huge doubt exists in his guilt. Continue Reading…
