An endorsement deal between Nike and Colin Kaepernick was announced earlier this week and?sports fans reacted to the apparel giant backing the exiled NFL quarterback?known mainly for starting a wave of protests among NFL players of police brutality, racial inequality and other social issues.
Lines were drawn in the sand as?the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback quickly became a trending topic on Twitter and other social networks. ?Some urged a boycott of the company?s clothes and sneakers ? even burning and cutting out the signature swoosh logos on their gear, while others pushed back, praising the company for finally taking a stand.
Nike continues to press the issue as a commercial featuring Kaepernick is planned to air during the NFL season opener.

In the wake of NFL players across the country taking a knee in support of Colin Kaepernick, protesting police brutality on minorities and in response to President Trump’s negative rhetoric on the subject matter, Nick Cannon has released a controversial spoken word piece voicing his opinion on the matter.
Cannon’s “Stand For What” showcases various images of African Americans being victimized by those in authority, vintage footage of civil rights leaders & more.
In the 4-minute black and white visual, a passionate Cannon shares his thoughts on everything from confederate flags and the statue of Robert E. Lee to minority casualties in the military.

Former NFL Michael Vick has been dragged online and off this week after he suggested that free agent?Colin Kaepernick cut his hair to increase his chances of being picked up by an NFL team.

After being accused of being in the ‘sunken place,’ Vick has issued an apology?for his remarks.
During an interview with the Dan Patrick show, the former QB states in part, “What I said, I should have never said.”

Michael Vick?was asked a direct question yesterday and he gave an honest answer, now he’s being beat up in the press for offering his opinion!
Yesterday, Vick appeared on FS1’s ‘Speak for Yourself’ where he was asked his thoughts on how Colin Kaepernick could improve his image and chances of being picked up by a team.
First thing we’ve got to get Colin to do is cut his hair.
Vick’s comments, while actually pretty on point, has been met with quite a bit of criticism.
