Former heavyweight champion Iron Mike Tyson appeared on The Oprah Winfrey show today and talked about his entire life history. From his 8 month marriage to Robin Givens to his ear-biting episode with fellow fighter Evander Holyfield, Mike let it all out. Discussing his recent documentary, “Tyson”, Oprah seemed to play it safe with the questions but eventually got Mike to shed tears after asking probing question about the accidental death of Mike’s daughter. This was one interview I was waiting for and it didn’t leave me disappointed at all. Mike talked about wildin out with women and drugs and seemed like he’s a sincere…changed family man. But he’s still SCARY nonetheless…
Al Reynolds has come outta protective custody forward to discuss his life after breaking ties with his ex-wife, Star Jones. In a new episode of TV One’s “Life After”, Al…commonly referred to on this blog and many others as “Big Gay Al”, (I admit it…I said it!) confronts the gay rumors and faces hard questions about “Life After” his 3 1/2 year marriage.
“Right now it’s a lil tender. <insert lip smack> Our relationship is still a lil tender and hopefully over time we’ll be able to get over all of that” ~ Al Reynolds
The full episode airs Sunday Oct. 18 at 10pm on TV One. I can’t wait… this should be a good one!
The 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards has come and gone and Atlanta is still surprisingly intact. The awards show went off without a hitch and new host Mike Epps kept the crowd rolling. I was prepared to do a full recap for you guys, but honestly compared to the two previous years the event was a bit lackluster. No convicted felons were caught attempting to purchase weapons (2007), there were no last minute changes to the host (2008)…absolutely NOTHING! The only “drama” that surrounded the event was Frankie crying on the red carpet, Gucci Mane’s “Sobriety” PSA which ran immediately after his performance of WASTED and Missy Elliott puttin Diddy on front street for still owing her cash. Everything else was status quo but you can check out all the photos HERE.
Shouts out to BET’s Lyntina Townsand for being so gracious and helpful. Awards show coverage is always exciting (and stressful) but this year the show went on without a hitch. Great for BET but sux for us bloggers. Oh well…hopefully the Soul Train Awards will be a hot mess so we can have more to talk about.
Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Antonia “Toya” Carter hit the red carpet of the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards with a third wheel, Toya’s new boo, James Hardy. The cute threesome posed for photos and James happily escorted both beautiful women on to the show. Now we’ve all heard rumors of how Tiny gets down, but I’m quite sure she’s not partaking in any of those activities while her boo is unable to participate. Tip ain’t havin that… not until he gets home!
Yeah Tiny, wise move to back up a bit. You wouldn’t want to be photographed standing too close! (I kiddd!) Speaking of Tiny, she read an acceptance letter from her boo, T.I. during the awards show and he showed her much love. After the reading though, awards show host Mike Epps joked, “She betta get home for T.I. come!” I almost fell out my chair… 😆
Pretty Ricky hit up the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards red carpet in matching black sequined jackets. They made the rounds and gave their same lil customary group speech but surprised me with an impromtu verse from “Tipsy”. Lingerie, the newest member of the group (and lead singer in lieu of Pleasure P) spit of verse acapella and blew me away. Check out the video below:
I caught up with Keyshia Cole’s bio-mom Frankie Lons on the red carpet of the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards this past weekend. She was sporting a new wig, a new front grill and a new attitude as she dished the dirt on her attraction to younger men. Anyone who follows Keyshia Cole or the “Frankie & Neffe Show” is quite aware of Frankie’s young boy magnetism. Shoot… she pulls em quicker than Kim Zolciak used to pull Big Poppa’s AmEx Black card. Anyway, Frankie was quite candid in her response to my question of “How do you always keep a young sexy man on your shoulder?” In fact, she was quite profound in her explanation:
“I’m not a ‘cougar’… I’m just a damsel in distress. Really, actually men my age I can’t deal with em, cause they make me feel old. And Ladies I need to give you some game. If you get a younger man, then he’ll make you feel young. You won’t be bent over and walking slow.”
Just moments after my brief interview with Frankie, she stormed off of the red carpet. If you follow me on TWITTER, you were the first to find out that a fellow blogger asked her a question that suddenly brought tears to her eyes: Continue Reading…
