Killer Mike celebrated the release of his new dual-disc “Underground Atlanta” last night at Mood Lounge in Atlanta. I got the chance to catch up with all my fellow ATLiens as Mike gave us an up close and personal preview of the new joint.
Videographer D.Jones captured the event for y’all and the video tells more than I ever could in writing:
I know it’s 10 minutes, but it breaks down like this: Fonzworth starts it off…Toompy hits at 4:58 and Killa Kill brings it all home at 8:07.
“Underground Atlanta” features collaborations with T.I., Big Kuntry, Yung Ralph, Shawty Lo, Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Pill, Da Backwudz, Young Dro, Young LA, Trillville, Princess, Khujo Goodie, Soulja Boy, Dem Getaway Boyz and many more.
Maia Campbell, daughter of famed author BeBe Moore-Campbell, who’s also known for her role as “Tiffany” on LL Cool J’s old show “In The House,” has been a known druggie for years now and it’s blatantly obvious that she needs help. Recently, someone caught the starlit on video acting…well…crackish and posted it on the web. Needless to say, it’s taken off and now she’s a star once again.
I know from experience that you can’t save a person who doesn’t want saving but the video basically shows Maia, who appears to be working as a prostitute, crying out for helping hand. Hopefully someone will find her and lead her out of that madness.
WARNING! If you want to forever remember Maia as she once was: Wholesome, Beautiful, Virginal, Clean… then don’t click Continue Reading…
Is Antonia “Toya” Carter a backstabber? She seems like a really laid back cool chick, but if you ask Joy Bounds (aka Lyfe Jennings’ baby mama) you may get a earful! Joy was/is part of the baby mama clique in Atlanta, as she’s been hanging out with Tiny for years. If you recall, Kandi Burruss, Joy, Christine White (Luda’s baby moms), Tiny, Toya and possibly Monica were all in discussions about developing their own reality show but Kandi revealed in an Essence article that the idea was scrapped because of an “uneasy disagreement” with the producer.
Now it appears that Joy is mad salty cause everyone’s got a show but her. According to MrsGrapevine, Toya may have manipulated the situation to get all of the other women kicked off the show. She’s even been accused of sleeping with a friend of the producer! Is Toya’s on air sweet image merely a front for the cameras? Joy (and her friends) seem to think so. Check out what they feel is proof of Toya’s backstabbing ways: Continue Reading…
A Georgia man allegedly slapped a toddler at a Walmart store because she wouldn’t stop crying, authorities said. Roger Stephens, 61, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree cruelty to children. An incident report obtained from police in Gwinnett County indicated Stephens did not know the 2-year-old girl he stands accused of hitting.
The confrontation happened shortly before noon at the Walmart in Stone Mountain, a suburb of Atlanta. According to the arresting officer, the child’s mother said her daughter was crying as they walked down one of the aisles.
The mother said a stranger later identified as Stephens approached them and said, “If you don’t shut the baby up, I will shut her up for you.” A few moments later, while the mother and the crying child were in another aisle, Stephens allegedly grabbed the girl and slapped her across the face. Police said he hit her four or five times. “See, I told you I would shut her up,” the suspect allegedly told the mother.
Authorities described “slight redness” to the toddler’s face. Before he was arrested, Stephens apologized to the mother for striking the girl, the incident report said.
Stephens, a Stone Mountain resident, is being held by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department.
Woooow! I’ve wanted to strangle a few bad “A”zz kids myself but this is extreme. This man actually put his hands on somebody else’s child! WhereTheyDoThatAt?
I’m sure you saw the 30 second snippet of Chris Brown on Larry King LIVE earlier this week where Chris seemed to be suffering from memory loss, and hissubsequent press releasewhere he basically said he “misspoke” when he stated in the clip that he didn’t remember beating Rihanna. In the statement, Chris said to watch the ENTIRE enterview because the clip was taken out of context, well the entire interview makes him look way worse!
With his mommy on his side, Chris never seemed to answer a direct question and his memory of the incident seemed lacking. Mark Garagos, Chris’ attorney stepped in once or twice which basically means Chris was effin up. Whatever the case may be, he was mighty brave to go on the show in the first place, but was he REALLY ready?
Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates, Sheree Whitfield, Kandi Burris, Kim Zolciak & unofficial 6th housewife, Dwight Eubanks recently took part in a photo campaign against hate. They were also joined by author J.L. King, V-103 radio personality Miss Sophia and Rasheeda. Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley of NoH8Campaign.com are Los Angeles based photographers and co-creators of the highly visible campaign. What began as a small grassroots movement in the wake of Proposition 8 passing in California, which effectively banned same-sex couples from legalizing their unions, has now turned into a full fledged movement.
The campaign started with portraits of every day Californians who supported marriage equality but soon expanded to Celebrities and supporters in general. The photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and the letters NOH8 painted on one cheek in protest.
