While I was tailing T.I.’s “A”zzzz all over Atlanta Saturday night, my boo, Shaquille O’Neal was partying it up at Esso’s. I ain’t mad though cause I don’t normally do clubs…[insert side eye here] but when I saw the pics my heart did sort of drop at bit!  Anywhoo, regardless of all the Atlanta jumpoff nonesense, Shaq is still my all-time favorite so what-EV. Oh…and I almost forgot that my boo just exceed his long-time rival Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon on the NBA’s All-time Scoring List to land solidly at number 7. Goooo Shaqie! By the way…Dominique’s at number 10.

The Hoop Doctors broke it down a bit better than me, since I look at the men in the game and not the scores. They even brought up this old Taco Bell commercial that made fun of Shaq and Hakeem’s on court feuding:

Sean “Diddy” Combs unveiled his big “A”zzz “I Am King” billboard in New York City’s Times Square last week. The ad features a tuxedo clad Diddy standing next to the words ”I Am King.” Although, some have interpreted the ad as a statement of arrogance, Diddy says the phrase is not only about him…but for every man:

“I am really proud of the new billboard and of the message that it conveys to everyone who gets to see it,” Diddy said in a statement. “I Am King is not just about me, but every man. We are all descendants of kings. And if all men believe in that, we can accomplish anything. This image pays tribute to that belief, that ideal.”

The billboards will also appear in Los Angeles (view Sunset Blvd Ad) and Miami.

After several postponed hearings and a whole lotta ‘wait and see’, the Atlanta woman who accused Shaquille O’Neal of stalking her and threatening her with bodily harm has officially withdrawn her request for a permanent restraining order against the NBA star.

Documents filed late Wednesday afternoon in Fulton County Superior Court and obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirmed that Alexis Miller had withdrawn her request for a permanent restraining order against the Phoenix Suns’ 7-foot-1, 325-pound center. It was unclear whether the two sides had agreed to any settlement that would close the case. (Source)

Tariq “King Flex” Nasheed, acclaimed author and host of the popular Mack Lessons podcast, hit up the “A” last week during the southern leg of his “Get Your Game Right Tour”.  Tariq decided to do a little mall hopping and ventured out to South Dekalb and Lenox Square malls.  When I saw this video, I already knew Tariq was about to act a fool about his mall experience. Crackheads???  Moist…Juicy-booty dudes???  I can’t take it!

Tariq “King Flex” Nasheed’s Get Your Game Right Tour hit the “A” yesterday and you know I had to go see first hand what all the hoopla was about.  Upon my entrance, I immediately noticed the demographics of the group, which consisted of mostly college aged males.  There were a few females sprinkled throughout the crowd, but I imagine that they, like I, were only there to see if Mr. Nasheed was really as hot in person as he appears on television and the covers of his books.  Tariq took to the stage and immediately began to convey tips and techniques on Mackin’ and Game. Being one of the few females in the audience, I personally took the entire seminar as entertainment, however, once the question/answer session started, I realized that the dudes there were really there to peep game and gain knowledge.

Light bulb moment.  Tariq Nasheed actually has power over these young and impressionable minds.  When he speaks of dimes vs. average women, most women automatically think he’s a male chauvinist who’s instilling caveman attitudes into men’s minds, however, Tariq is actually encouraging confidence and building self-esteem for these young dudes.  Hell, even some old heads can learn a thing or two from Mr. Mack Lessons!  

I got a chance to sit down with Tariq after the show for a little one on one and chopped it up for a bit.  I’m almost ashamed to post this audio cause I was talking fast and giggling like a lil schoolgirl…but then I realized, so was he dammit!  We actually had a really good conversation until he kept trying to turn the tables on me.  Check out a few flix + the audio below: (more…)

Late rapper Tupac Shakur appeared on The Arsenio Hall show back in 1994.  Can you believe that this was over 10 years ago??  It seems like yesterday Tupac was running rampant on the streets of the “A”…*sigh* I feel soooo ancient right about now.
