Atlanta is known for being the home of the flashy. Us ATLiens know what we want and we go get it….but lately a select group have made a name for themselves by snatching and grabbing high end jeans. The media has dubbed the gang “Blue Jean Bandits” and they’ve been around for years. You may think that stealing blue jeans is minor league, but these guys have entered into felony territory by not only targeting high-end jeans, but taking one-of-a-kind rhinestone studded hoodies, $12,000 belts, and designer shoes. The single biggest heist so far nabbed $145,000 from a Pearle Vision store on Lenox Road.
A friend of mine, Adrene Ashford has been targeted on more than one occasion at both of her locations. Pieces of Adrene in East Atlanta and Adrene’s Boutique in Castleberry Hills.
Adrene says ~ “Being a new store, having hot merchandise, being a popular neighborhood — I knew they were watching, waiting for an opportunity,”
A handwritten note from homerun king and Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron sold for $21,000 yesterday. The letter, written when Aaron was only 17 years old, was written to the owner of a Negro League team telling him that Hank’s parents approved of his joining the team. It was purchased by Jeffrey Gitomer, a Charlotte, NC buisnessman who outbid the Negro League’s Baseball Museum.
The seven-line letter is dated Nov. 22, 1951, from Mobile, Ala., and written to Syd Pollack. The letter reads:
“Dear Mr. Pollack. I receive you letter, and it is entirely satisfactory with my parents Mr. & Mrs. Aaron, that I may join the Indianapolis Clowns next season.
$21,000 for 7 lines…that’s $3,000 per line. Can someone please help me get on. I write bad grammer all day everyday…I should get paid too! I kidd…I kidd! I know he’s a legend but Dayum.
It’s not even safe at the coffee house anymore! Two men where shot at my favorite Starbucks. A man walked into the Starbucks on Cascade Road about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday evening and shot two men, Clifford Hardwick and Timothy Strayhorn. The gunman fled in a white Chevrolet Impala or Caprice.
The gunman entered the cafe at approximately 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, fired multiple shots and immediately fled the scene. A lawyer was critically wounded in the attack, and the suspect remained at large Thursday.
The Starbucks on Cascade Road is owned by the theater and restaurant holding company of NBA star “Magic” Johnson and is frequented by local civil rights and other political leaders, according to The Atlanta-Constitution Journal. (Read More)
OK…there are several things wrong with this situation. First and foremost, the reporters show the dude’s MySpace pictures but they protect the girls. WTF?! Aren’t they all equally at fault? Why were these lil hookers protected? They weren’t tryna protect their identity when they were posting hoe ads on Craigslist! *sigh* I blame the parents.
Oh No….say it ain’t so! Young Jeezy’s name has been brought up in the cocaine-conspiracy case against Black Mafia Family (BMF) member Fleming “Ill” Daniels! Although Jeezy hasn’t been charged with any crime, a witness in the case has implicated Jay “Young Jeezy” Jenkins as a major player who received several kilos of cocaine from the group.
Former BMF member Ralph “Ralphie” Simms is snitchin on everyone in hopes of receiving a lighter sentence.
Simms testified that his job was to unload BMF’s cocaine from limos outfitted with secret compartments. He said he piled as many as 100 “bricks” of cocaine at a time inside the basement of one of BMF’s stash houses, an ultra-modern Buckhead mansion nicknamed “Space Mountain.” And he said that on one
