Akon was joined by Young Jeezy on Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform his hit, “I’m So Paid”. The two closed the show and Jeezy’s spot was cut as the credits were rolling. Speaking of Jeezy, he’s released yet another behind the scenes video for “My President is Black” featuring Nas. In the clip, Jeezy explains the concept behind the video and how he celebrated President-elect Barack Obama’s historic victory by driving down Peachtree with the doors up on his Blue Lambo. After dropping the controversial “N.I.G.G.E.R.” title and then proclaiming that it’s still called “Nigger,” Nas unveiled the album cover for his 9th studio album last week. Untitled…maybe…but the image of Nas with welts on his back in the form of an “N” says it all. Nas even tells Billboard that the cover “speaks for itself. It says [N-Word] real loud.” The album is scheduled for release July 1st and has several Atlanta connections, including Jermaine Dupri, Polow Da Don (My Legacy), and DJ Toomp (N.I.G.G.E.R.). Word on the street yesterday was that the title of Nas’ new album, “Nigger” had been dropped and will simply be called “Nas.” What a difference a day makes! Today…Nas is adamently stating that the title of his album has not and will not change. Def Jam head L.A. Reid said that Nas could “call the damn thing whatever he wanted.” Looks like someone is throwing a hissy fit… (Source)

Cute couple Nas & Kelis were spotted leaving a restaurant along Sushi row in LA the other day. Rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerated…or not. They really don’t look too lovey-dovey but hey…that’s what marriage can do to a relationship.

Kelis may or may not have been “caught out there” but her single of the same name used to be my joint….that’s a story for another day! Anyway, check out Kelis’ video for “Caught Out There” after the jump…

Nas and his wife, Kelis, at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Yes…his shirt says “NIGGER” and Yes…he wore THAT to the Grammys. I ALMOST give him a pass for the free advertisment of his next cd (is it EVER coming out)…but Kelis…I’m speechless!

I’ve always admired Kelis’ fashion sense, but this show was not the event for this foolishness..but to each his/her own. Nas explains his choice of gear in the video below…
