Keri Hilson and Kanye West performed “Knock You Down” last night on The David Letterman Show. Keri rocked a new fresh cut and killed the live performance. I also detected a bit of onstage chemistry as Kanye took the opportunity to smack a lil “A”zz live on TV…
Kanye and Amber recreate their favorite sexual position in the newest advertisement for Louis Vuitton. I dunno bout you, but if I didn’t already know this was an LV ad I wouldn’t know what the hell they were selling but the look on Kanye’s face and Amber’s position, would lead me to assume they had some fishsticks in the oven…
Oh…and I know I’m late, but in case you also missed Trina’s LV photoshoot. Check her out below:
Kayne West covers the March 2009 of Detail Magazine looking mad fly. He has absolutely no reason to get mad about this cover cause we can’t see the ‘grey in his beard‘ this time. In the feature, Ye speaks on being seen as narcissistic and self-absorbed and also talks about being the voice of a generation:
“If not me, then who? Someone could be a better rapper, dance better. But culturally impacting? When you look back at these four and a half years, who’s the icon at the end of the day? Who broke down color barriers? What other black guy would a white person use as a fashion reference?”
Kanye also just dropped his latest video for “Welcome to Heartbreak” featuring Kid Cudi on his blog this morning but claims he only released it because it has some new technology in he wanted to be the first to use it:
This is not the next single, “Amazing” is the next single. This is the video we’ve been working on for the last month.
We know there is another video out there using the same technique so we were forced to drop it now.
It’s directed by Nabil Elderki, the person who also directed Kanye’s Champion video (remember the puppets?). Anywhoo…check out the new video below:
Kanye West covers Vibe Magazine’s February 2009 issue looking…well…let’s just say he was looking. Yeezy, who needs to take Tyra’s advice and “smile with his eyes” looked about as depressed as his music is sounding these days. The rapper is not happy about the pic, stating in his blog that, “I DON’T HAVE GREY IN MY BEARD IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M ALL DOWN WITH BEINGS IN MY 30′S BUT DAAAAAAAAMN!!!! THIS IS SOME BENJAMIN BUTTON’S SHIT!”
I didn’t even peep the gray til he pointed it out…but Whatev! Kanye’s obviously embracing his 30’s. Not only is he the new poster child for Just for Men hair color, he’s also proclaimed that his next act of maturity will be to pose nude one day:
“I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans,” he told writer Sean Fennessey when asked if he was comfortable with fame. “I want the freedom of having less fans. It’s like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility. It’s like Björk. If she wanted to pose naked, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s Björk.’ But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.” (Source)
*sigh*…in my best Antwan “Big Boi” Patton dialect… “Boi Stop!”
Kanye West hit up the Conan O’Brien show recently sounding mad tired and hoarse. He and Conan chopped it up for a while about Ye’s fashion choices (hilarious) as they viewed a few of his past fashion statements. Kanye talks about his disdain for the paparazzi and says he plans to take responsibility in changing the way they work with celebs. He also takes credit for pioneering using the audio processor (voice thingy) cause he used it first in College Dropout.
DefJam/BoBO (Best of Both Offices) set up a conference call between Kanye West a few hundred blog sites yesterday. Kanye discussed his upcoming release, 808s & Heartbreak. The album’s released date has been pushed up to November 24th and a tour may be planned for June. Kanye adressed his decision to venture into singing and leaked a new song that features Young Jeezy:
Today we’re about to drop one of the records that everybody’s talking about, “Amazing” featuring Jeezy. It’s definitely one of those joints in the club that’s gonna go crazy, that’s gonna send it up like with did with “Swagger”, like we did with “Put On”, and like we always do it this time. This is what my job is. My job is to give y’all s**t that has the model b***hes running crazy, and has n***as bobbing their heads crazy like “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’” and “Flashin’ Lights”. Of course I always hit them with a curve to start off with. Y’all know that “Heartless”, that’s straight n***a s**t. The whole album you can rap over at the end of the day, but I’m trying to put on those Phil Collins’ melodies. I feel even if I’m harmonizing, it’s still from a n***a perspective. I ain’t making no, ‘girl, your nails are the perfect nails, you the perfect-’ naw, this ain’t none of that. This is still that rap perspective music with melody.
You can’t ever say that Kanye West doesn’t try new things! In his new video for “Heartless,” Mr. West enters a world of animation. There are quite a few cameos from futuristic superstars, the Jetson’s, who are prominently featured on artwork in Kanye’s cartoon home. I hate to say it folks, but Kanye’s singing has started to grow on me. I know you like it too…don’t front!
Kanye also explained his decision to turn from hip-hop to pop in an interview with a Singapore news outlet. In his usual arrogant swag, Ye explained how his new style of music should be described as “pop-art” and that his goal is to be the greatest performer of this generation. He gives much love to his homie T-Pain in the interview and even shows off his singing skills without the vocoder. When asked about his experiences with the media, Kanye quickly pointed out the power of the blog:
My relationship with the media? O.K…That’s why I love having a blog because it’s like, BAM! I can say exactly what I want, the amount of stuff I want…and then it just goes out to everywhere else, it may end up on CNN.
That’s the greatest thing about having a blog. Before that…you would have to go through the media.
Dayum! Kanye’s just letting all the good secrets out these days. Peep the full interview: (more…)
