T.I. may be locked up but his voice is still all over the airwaves. With a little less than 4 months left on his prison sentence (he’s scheduled to be released mid-September), Tip is anticipating his release is aching to return to doing what he loves most… making music.
In his last letter from jail, Tip wrote about how this has all affected him. Thanking the fans who have stood beside him in spirit and promising to return the favor by the gift of music…
The separation from my art has definitely sparked an inferno of inspiration that will soon be felt by all. As a matter of fact, to show my appreciation to those that have been in support of me and granted the requests of TEAM T.I. I’ll be releasing a record in the near future (couple of weeks tops) to hold y’all over til I get back in action.
During this time of seclusion I have developed a mind full of thoughts, ideas, plans and strategies of change to incorporate into my professional endeavors, as well as my personal lifestyle. But none of them is as strong as my determination to conquer my own imperfections and my will to WIN NO MATTER WHAT!!! [read Tip's full letter from jail HERE]
Tip kept his promise and now there’s now a new track circulating featuring his Grand Hustle signee B.o.B. (aka Bobby Ray), entitled “We Don’t Get Down Like Yall”.
I must preface this mini-post with the following disclaimer:
I DO NOT drink liquor (anymore) nor have I ever smoked weed BUT I know from experiencing the effects of drugs & alcohol on people around me, that whoever meshed up Usher’s “PAPERS” song with a goat was definitely on that kryptonite!!!!
I’m just saying…
Sad thing is… that dayum Goat sounds just like Ursh!
Pour out a lil liquor ladies… Killer Mike (aka Mike Bigga) is officially off the market. Mikey is in LOVE and his beautiful boo was by his side recently during Lupe Fiasco’s listening session.
During a recent listening session at Atlanta’s Tree Sound Studio (Wassup Mali!) for his highly anticipated “Pl3dge” project, Mike revealed his new found happiness and shared with the crowd a new song inspired by the love of his life.
“My music is very passionate. Most of the time, when I’m rappin’ about a woman it’s about ONE particular woman. So when you hear songs like this on my record, I’m talking about HER.
And if you’re a player or a grinder, you know that five women will distract you and drive your ass to the poor house, and one strong woman will help you become a billionaire!” ~ Killer Mike
It kinda puts me in the mind of Tip’s “Whatever You Like,” but not really. I guess the fact that Mike is rapping about hittin the mall and buying his boo every bag kinda through me… that plus his dancing across the stage.
