Tiny’s former bandmate and newly inducted Atlanta “housewife” Kandi Burress came through for support.

My all-time favorite ATLien, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton was honored this weekend by the Collective Renaissance Guild of the National Black Arts Festival (NBAF). The event, dubbed “The Art of Change,” was a star-studded celebration of Big Boi’s collaboration with the Atlanta Ballet in “Big” and he was awarded the 2008 Renaissance Award for “Artistic Innovation”. In a symbolic gesture of passing the baton from one generation to the next, Dr. Cornel West presented Big Boi the award after a crowd raising speech in the atrium of Mercedes Benz of Buckhead.
The event was hosted by Rashan Ali and Kenny Burns, while DJ Trauma kept the house rocking. Several celebs were also there to celebrate with Big Boi. Check out a few exclusive flix courtesy of NecoleBitchie as well as StraightFromTheA.com exclusive video footage of Dr. West’s speech and Big Boi’s acceptance of the honor below: (more…)

The ever beautiful Keri Hilson performed at an event hosted by Lexus last night in Atlanta and I decided to crash the party and try out my new camcorder. Keri graced the stage at Puritan Mill and performed about 4 songs and I caught 3 of them on camera. In the video above, she performs the original version of Runaway Love and in the two under the cut she performs Mary J. Blige’s “Take Me As I Am” and ends the show with “Energy”. (more…)
Plies hosted a private listening party Monday (Dec. 1st) at Atlanta’s Patchwerk Studios for his upcoming album, “Da Realest”, and I can honestly say he got me. I’ve never been a big fan of Plies (please hold your fire) because I’m not really into all that goon buisness, but after meeting him and hearing the sincerity in his voice I’m finally a fan.
Plies began the listening session with a special shout out to all of the invited attendees. As we all sat and waited patiently to roast him, he greeted us all warmly and humbly thanked us for taking time out of our busy schedules to attend. He mentioned how blessed he was to be in a situation where he no longer had to worry about feeding his kids and taking care of his family. (more…)
I caught up with Big Boi last night and besides that fact that he made me blush several times, Mr. Patton gave me some inside information about some upcoming projects. I know you ALL are waiting for Sir Lucious Leftfoot to drop but Big Boi already has another project completed and ready to go. I’m sworn to secrecy on the name but just know that the title is about as comical as Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Also, the biggest bit of news he let drop was that he met with Dre Thursday night and the two are officially working on another Outkast project! I’m so happy, I’m bout to put on my wedges and do a table dance!!!
Young Jeezy’s president is Black & his Lamborghini really is blue! I spotted Jeezy getting his thug swagger on yesterday as he shopped at a downtown Atlanta location known for their large selection of kicks. I just happened to be walking down the street when I noticed his blue Lambo parked outside the trendy spot. Jeezy appeared moments later chatting on his cell as two of his boys helped him with several shopping bags. ((Side Note: It took 2 cars to transport all of Jeezy’s kicks & gear!!)) LMAO at dude’s t-shirt…how appropriate!
Being that I’m ALWAYS prepared for whatever, I discretely snapped a few shots from across the street: (more…)
