Shawntae Harris aka DaBrat aka Prisoner #0001287419 celebrated her 35th birthday yesterday (April 14th) while incarcerated in Georgia’s Arrendale State Prison. Harris is currently serving a 3 year sentence for the aggravated assault of a waitress at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72. At least she looks content in her newest mugshot.  Harris is scheduled for release August 2011.

Da Brat aka Shawntae Harris started her 3 year bid the other day in Dekalb county jail for felony aggravated assault for hitting Studio 72 employee Shayla Smith with a rum bottle.  I can honestly say that Shawntae is on some other ish right now.  Dude Chick’s going to jail for acting stupid and is still playing games!  SMH!  I guess jail will be just another vacation spot.  Enjoy it while it lasts Brat!

Shawntae Harris aka Da Brat has been sentenced to 3 years in jail following an altercation at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 last fall.  The victim, Shayla Stevens, was working as a waitress at the nightclub when Da Brat struck her in the head with a bottle of rum after the waitress bumped into her.  This sentence concludes the criminal case, however Stevens has a civil case pending against Da Brat for unspecified medical and other costs.

Sources say that Da Brat (aka Shawntae Harris) has struck a plea deal with Dekalb County prosecutors in her pending assault case.  To refresh your memory, Brat was arrested last fall after she attacked a waitress with a bottle during Jermaine Dupri’s Halloween Party at Studio 72 (View Mugshot).   I’ve heard that the deal is for Harris to turn herself in by the end of the week to begin serving a 1 year sentence, however Dekalb County’s website lists her pretrial scheduled for August 22nd.  Brat has been out on bond since November 1, 2007.  Will update you as I get additional details…
