President-elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration Celebration began today with the “We Are One” inaugural opening celebration. The star-studded event was aired live on several channels, however HBO picked up the show and added it to their Sunday evening line-up. There were several performances but a few to note were Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Shakira’s performance of Stevie’s Higher Ground; Mary J. Blige performed Lean on Me; Jamie Foxx wowed the crowd with his Obama impression and Beyonce closed out the ceremony with her rendtion of America the Beautiful.  If you missed it…check out a few clips below:

Beyonce hit up the New York premier of “Notorious” yesterday glowing from head to toe.  Mrs. Carter, fresh off the heels of a romantic getaway with her boo, Jay-Z, looked fresh and relaxed.  I was tryna see if she’s still rocking her “Obama for yo Mama” nails but I couldn’t tell… :lol:

In related news, Bey was just nominated for five NAACP awards, including best female recording artist, best video for both “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies” and best supporting actress for Cadillac Records.  Do you really expect anything less from this superstar?

Beyonce & Etta James attend the premiere of “Cadillac Records” held at The Egyptian Theater last night (November 24, 2008) in Hollywood, California.  It seems like the red carpet was full of beautiful SINGLE LADIES as Gabrielle Union, Lauren London, Sanaa Lathan all flawlessly posed for the camera.  As Gabby pretended to put her hands up like the video, Beyonce was sure to get her rock captured on film… :lol:

Seventeen Magazine named Beyonce 2008 Style Star Of The Year and the star attended the unveiling of Dec08/Jan09 cover. In the issue, she talks about her new double-album, I Am…Sasha Fierce, her marriage to Jay-Z, and explains how SHE is her worst competitor:

On finally settling down with Jay-Z: “I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started dating. There was no rush — no one expected me to run off and get married. I really don’t believe that you will love the same thing when you’re 20 as you do at 30. So that was my rule: Before the age of 25, I would never get married. I feel like you have to get to know yourself, know what you want, spend some time by yourself, and be proud of who you are before you can share that with someone else.”

On competion from other artists: “I feel like I’m my competition. I don’t try to compete with other people. I just try to better myself. I go and watch everything that I’ve done. I have my YouTube days, when I watch every performance, and I listen to my music, and I watch my videos to figure out what I need to do, what I need to fix, and how to become a better singer.
